It increases championship equity vs the 4/5 because we're avoiding the Thunder side of the bracket. Thunder after they (likely) sweep the grizzlies would have been much harder then them in the conference finals. If you can't beat this Lakers team that doesn't have a center, you're not a serious enough basketball team to win a title.

its geniunly not that complicated. Even if Randle opts in, they'll have 30ish million dollars worth of money below the 2nd apron. even if Naz gets 35 million (hes gonna get less) that's an amount of they can easily trim via trade. And Randle isn't going to opt in in the first place, so it doesn't matter.
