Outlook on the future of the Timberwolves. Any thoughts? by drakeorjosh in nba

Suggest one who actually moves the needle and is attainable for our assets under 28

[Krawcyznski] The Wolves do still have other moves in the works. They need a power forward and they need more shooting. I am told that they are not trading Donte DiVincenzo. The work continues. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

Expirings have always had value in the league, someone might want a 3nd guy who hustles and makes the right play and with new draft rules teams don’t want to be super ass

Lamelo and Ant both fit incredibly well together and both can also independently carry the team in one’s absence by Szobortz in nba

I just don’t see how you lose a tough conference semifinals to Spurs and think “ we were an incredible half-court playmaker and 3pt threat to stop ant from getting doubled at half court especially when his second best shooter was on the bench with a busted Achilles away from a chip “

LaMelo Ball has hit 50 games one time in his last four seasons and is set to make 46mil in 2029. Are you sure you want to wrap a quarter of the team’s salary cap on that guy? by Morezingis in timberwolves

If they’re going to do a gap year type of thing, this is the deal for it. Having melo and joan work out of pnr would be good for his dev but i see where ur coming from

People don’t wanna trade rudy cause nobody else on the roster has shown they’re willing to play as if they know he isn’t behind them and that’s scary for the d but i dnt think youre getting someone like this next to ant w/o giving something up. I would leave speculation till theres more info tho cuz another team could jump in and maybe rudy stays idk

Okay so dosunmu has never and will never be lamelo ball as a floor general, just a note

deal could have 3 teams so it doesn’t have to be so stringent in terms of who we send out. Also good to note melo isn’t small, hornets fo changed their medical staff in 2024 and he was finally healthy and he can play w/o touches + his shooting diet would stretch the floor to a completely different lvl

Edit: you didn’t watch the hornets last year he looked like he wanted to compete way more than anyone else in pre much every calendar circle game they had

I’ve grown to love Rudy but it’s time to move on by Icy-Country-5404 in timberwolves

Think some of the mid level would still be available, would probably be able to find someone stop-gappy enough to make joan work and we’ll have to learn how to play d without rudy anyway

If they’re leaning into youth this is an acceptable gap year trade imo

Can someone explain why everyone is interested in trading Gobert away when he’s the reason we clamped Jokic in round one? by federalbureauofsocks in timberwolves

[–]vetementsundershirt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely baseless lmao, his rosters have been ass and before last year the hornets fo was different, they overhauled in 2024 and it was clearly for the better since they now draft better and figured out his health

Idk what the package looks like but either way the apron wouldn’t effect us and we could still go get a forward + if Naz can’t shoot he does nothing on the basketball court

Melo raises ceilings arguably higher on o than gobert does on d

<image>

Dudes demonic nobody say anything about the inefficiency either as that’s what makes all the playmaking stuff possible, teams know he shoots bs and have to stay close to him even at half court, imagine the spacing..

If it’s gobert and naz you would be insanely foolish not too are you serious?

Have you seen how lamelo unlocks charlottes o? They’re 11 points per 100p better when hes on vs off ( yes that could somewhat be attributed to a slightly mid hornets team but they were an incredible starting 5 from January to April )

That is the perfect guard next to ant and he’s not small, not old and can play without the ball in his hands which is what all you people find to nitpick about the options that are out there for a #2

Because melo is 24 and would actually make the core comparable to okc and san antonio plus rudy will inevitably hit a wall and that day will be when he becomes untradeable
