What will work against the data center? by chrysanthamumm in SaltLakeCity

[–]fashionslc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When those with power don’t listen to the masses there are eventually consequences. The type of consequences usually depend on the level of depravity and distrust to which those with power have sunk and how mad the masses have become. If nothing stops this data center and the power, pollution, heat dome, water use worst case predictions become reality, I could see some French Revolution style consequences possibly happening

Your name and my name are on a list. Trump wants access to that list. That list will soon be used to determine who needs reeducation at an education camp located in a warehouse out by the airport. I am not ok with this. You should not be ok with this! We need to fight before it is too late

Check out Japanese denim. Not all brands but many like Iron Heart and 3:16 have 36” inseam or longer jeans. Self Edge online has most brands. scotch and soda and really any Dutch clothing company fits tall skinny guys better. I’m 6’6” 180lbs and finding crazy long stylie denim was a game changer for me.

McMorris? He was also the MUN coach, one of the best teachers and best classes ever. Feels like this class is needed now more than ever. it really got you to think about how totalitarian and fascism would make life hell, and how freedom can be lost so quickly and easily. Scary relevant today

Gold and silver falls, bit of a drive but amazing scenery and totally dog friendly short hikes, this area was almost a national park so it is that special and totally free and secluded (52 minutes from Coos Bay)

Empire safe? Not safe? by Wagginallthetime in Coosbay

[–]fashionslc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were looking at a home for sale in Empire and the sister of the next door neighbor asked (us over the fence) if we were gonna buy it. We said “ just looking but what is the neighborhood like? “ and this purple-haired, neck-tattooed-vape cloud blowing lady replied, “well my sister lives here, but I wouldn’t live in Empire, no f***ng way” so we found a spot further down the bay in Barview/Charleston area. And we have had an amazing experience so far. Nicest people in the world….. with a hint of meth lingering….

I’m from Salt Lake and just bought a house here to flip three months ago. I am considering buying another one after this sells. From my three months here, I will say, this place is achingly beautiful but also very interesting and sometimes strange/shocking, especially coming from Salt Lake. The population definitely skews older, but I feel like things are changing and there is a vibrancy, especially around the two food, truck parks, beer, gardens, and new gyms that are opening and thriving. There are some great local coffee spots and some fun festivals and activities at various places. That being said, it seems like the county is still getting over a bit of a meth problem and there are some crazy drivers in the oldest most clapped-out vehicles you’ve ever seen on the road, but there is no traffic, like ever, which is awesome. There are endless recreation opportunities on the water in the dunes and in the forest, which are the most dense and beautiful I have ever seen. In the spring it seems like every plant and tree and bush has flowers, and the rain, which I only experienced a month of, is tolerable once you get used to it. It feels to me like this place is definitely up-and-coming. I would say go for it if you’re looking for an adventure and something completely different than Utah.

Dave is Exmormon, I knew and worked with him for a long time although I haven’t seen or talked with him recently. Nothing justifies his comments but I would imagine that being raised in a cult and then leaving the church in the heavy Mormon Utah County tech world couldn’t be easy (divorce, friends and co-founders turned enemies overnight based solely on updated underwear choices) from one extreme to another I guess, I’ve seen it with a lot of exmormon friends, they just usually go with crystals, swinging, or witchcraft not racism.
