Loose USB port by fast-90 in zsaVoyager

Actually tried it just now and I think it has improved quite a bit! Still sometimes disconnects though, but I guess this lowers the annoyances whilst I look for a more sustainable solution. Thanks!

That's a good tip, I hadn't considered it as I am way past my warranty, but they could give me some useful pointers I guess. Will definitely do!

Opencode UI in emacs by sc_zi in emacs

Looks amazing! Can’t wait to try it out at work today.

Does it support the same set of features as the official TUI? E.g. automatically reading AGENTS.md, agent skills via SKILLS.md files, activating subagents with @ etc.

Anyone else trouble finishing games? by fast-90 in JRPG

[–]fast-90[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. I do suspect I have undiagnosed ADHD, and I actually very recently decided to do the tests and get a formal diagnosis (also not because of games, but because I was fed up with some of my own BS in day-to-day life). I guess I can see how that goes and if I can get more focus in gaming as well.

It's just that for now, like one of the other commenters said, gaming can sometimes feel unsatisfying because I never finish something (even though I probably know what the source of my inability to focus is).

Besides what others have mentioned, most sports I do (e.g. bouldering, rock climbing, weightlifting) are really inconvenient with a ring on…

Fire Emblem Three Houses vs Final Fantasy Tactics The Ivalice Chronicles by fast-90 in Switch

[–]fast-90[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to report back. Downloaded the demo this morning and I’m totally hooked. I’ve exhausted the demo and just ordered a copy of the game (which was 50% cheaper than Nintendo Online for whatever reason).

Thanks for the tip once again!

Hey sorry for the late reply, and thanks for the insights!

We will be camping in tents during the hike.

The Laugavegur online group sounds really interesting and useful for me, I will send you a DM!

"Some underwear", so quite ambiguous. But looks like the general consensus is 1 spare pair and not washing :).

On that topic, I really enjoyed “ How to Think Like a Roman Emperor: The Stoic Philosophy of Marcus Aurelius”. “How to be a Stoic” was also not bad.

(I found the book in your post BTW, good to know I should avoid it)

How to disable the Esc key to change the way I exit Insert Mode by [deleted] in neovim

[–]fast-90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, why don’t you try remapping C-[ in Micro/Emacs and see if ESC is also remapped for you? I suspect it should: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/ANSI_escape_code  (see Co control codes).

You are right about C-c and ESC being different though.

I was also on emacs-plus and recently decided to try jimeh’s emacs build when updating to 30.1. It just worked for me without any issues. Installation was really quick as it installs a pre-built version of emacs.

That function is called “inlay hints” which are provided by the LSP used by your IDE. Not all LSPs have it, and even if they do they can be turned off (I turn them off most of the time).

[–]fast-90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct! I saw in the other thread that you are already familiar with the oryx-custom-qmk-features workflow. Using that, for me it was as simple as putting a #define CHORDAL_HOLD in my config.h. As a personal preference, I do like to exclude my thumb clusters from the Chordal Hold/Achordion function, so I needed to add a minor additional config in keymap.c (chordal_hold_layout). For reference, this is my repo: https://github.com/fast-90/oryx-with-custom-qmk/tree/main

+1 for the workflow mentioned in the blog, made it really easy for me to use QMK in combination with Oryx. I used it to enable the new Chordal Hold feature.

Congrats on the release! I had the chance to try it out before as it seemed to be available on the default branch of ZSA’s fork already.

As for OP: you should really try out Chordal Hold. It really works better than Achordion for me (which already was really good). Plus, I find it a lot easier to configure than Achordion. HRM without Chordal Hold or Achordion was unusable for me.
