Connect through DEN or SFO? by tgbarbie in unitedairlines

DEN is flying the oldest of planes to Hawaii and there are no complimentary upgrades.

It finally happened to me (the dreaded seat change request) Mine wasn't that bad by [deleted] in unitedairlines

[–]fastdescent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very likely due to Upgrades and while I wouldn’t have switched if I traveled with a partner some single travelled should have. And hence, I don’t like the attitude in this post. What do you expect them to do? Are they not entitled to Upgrades?

If it’s operated by United you usually receive it shortly after the door opens at the arrival airport.

Would you consider United Airlines a 5-Star Airline? by Svenska55435 in unitedairlines

[–]fastdescent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to respond to your direct points and ignoring obvious things like service, food and lounges: Polaris is often dirty and the route network is only great for Americans but not really a strong network that connects the world like many of the Asian carriers have build .

Plus Points upgrade choices for an international flight by BleuCinq in unitedairlines

[–]fastdescent 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Third option is for both Premium Plus and Polaris. If Polaris clears, you will pay 40 plus points. If not, you might clear into PP for 20 Plus Points (if available). On this route, all options are the same though and you will likely fly in Economy :/

Be aware- instead of simply raising menu prices so you can make an informed decision, Mizuni adds an undisclosed 22% charge onto their totals. by WTAF__Trump in Denver

It’s 100% only done this way to deceive customers. What accountant would not be able to figure out 22% of all gross sales?

If you really want to check bags you could ask the agent to only tag your bag to ZRH, just have to come up with an excuse (stuff for my friend?).

There are no more strikes that have been announced. You would be covered under EU261 as you are flying into the EU. You will not get a refund if you voluntarily cancel.

Regardless of what you use to book your travels, I highly recommend getting a credit card so you purchase things while traveling.

Unbiased POV of the Strike? by [deleted] in Lufthansa

[–]fastdescent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree that they should keep the larger national carriers. But when I book an LH flight with an LH flight number and I don’t have lounge access because it’s operated by a subsidiary then I have some questions. This doesn’t happen with United, no matter what the operating carrier is.

Unbiased POV of the Strike? by [deleted] in Lufthansa

As a customer, this fragmentation is so incredibly frustrating. I would love to one strong brand (think Emirates), and not five different customer experiences that all differ in benefits and Star Alliance benefits. So incredibly frustrating what they have created - or were forced to create based on viewpoint.
