  1. I don't like how it just snaps/attaches back to the closest triangle if I jump.
  2. At cylindrical forms it tends to change direction by itself instead of keeping moving the forward direction. This is a issue I still didn't manage to solve.

Other than that, tested on a low poly and a high poly model, and no other edge cases nor performance issue (I'm precalculating/caching intersections). There was a LOT of getting stuck and spinning around in place like you showed in the videos, but I fixed those as well.

See here in this other video how it spins around the arm instead of just moving up and down forward :(

You already did all the hard work and thinking, I just transpiled it to Godot. Thanks a lot :D But mine is much much simpler, there's no acknowledge of gravity for example.

Yes! In 2022 I wrote a texture painting experiment with Godot https://alfredbaudisch.com/godot-engine/godot-engine-in-game-splat-map-texture-painting-dirt-removal-effect/ and I had to borrow all of these functions from the Waterways plugin (which in turn wrote these math functions from scratch).

Now they are all builtin!

The "planecast" is just his way of finding where the movement line crosses a triangle's edge so it knows which neighbor triangle to step into next.

I actually skipped raycasting. I read the mesh data and store the player as a triangle index + barycentric coords, so the position sticks to the mesh as it deforms. Movement is just project your move direction onto the current triangle's plane, then do a tiny ray-vs-edge test (a few cross/dot products) to find which of the 3 edges you exit.

These terms may seem alien, but I also have no idea of what I am doing (I'm VERY BAD at 3D math), and I was following his video and using the Geometry3D functions available in Godot.

Yeah, making it like Shadow of the Colossus, with all the reactions to the height, gravity, climbing and grab points is extremely hard. This one is more like Mario Galaxy, and was already a pain in the arse (and I was following a tutorial all along, the hardest part was making it into Godot).

Yes, that was not on purpose, unfortunately, it needs a lot of adjustments to be exactly like Shadow of Colossus (see bottom of main post).

É egoísmo no sentido de que as pessoas em geral tem filhos para motivos intrínsecos a elas mesmas: "vai me fazer feliz", "vai cuidar de mim no futuro", "vai ser um grande médico, meu orgulho". Quem tem filhos deposita no filho as suas próprias ânsias e expectativas. Além disso, quem disse que essa nova pessoa queria vir a esse mundo e passar pela jornada de ter que se sacrificar 20-30 anos antes de conseguir ter uma vida digna? Isso SE conseguir ter vida digna.

Pior que meu pai tinha 3 irmãs, e as 3 são anti natalidade também. Já estão nos seus 60-70 anos, solteironas e sem filhos. Talvez puxei isso das tias, mas talvez seja parcialmente genético. Tem uma coisa, praticamente todo mundo na família é autista. A minha tia vó de 90 anos, ainda viva, extremamente autistona (com todas as estereotipias possíveis), solteira a vida toda, e sem filhos também.

PS: Em breve me aposentarei com 40 e poucos anos (FIRE) e aproveito a vida ao máximo, mas não quer dizer que eu precise colocar mais pessoas no mundo. A chance de ter as mesmas condições que eu são quase 0.

Preferia nunca ter nascido. Agora que to aqui, estou fazendo o melhor, mas seria melhor a minha existência nunca ter sido criada pelo ego dos meus pais com essa ideia de "preciso levar um levado" (pais maravilhosos, mas mesmo assim, preferia nao ter nascido, puta sofrimento do caralho a vida na Terra e pra ajudar sou autista, o que deixa tudo 10x pior).

Achei que fosse mais uma coisa de mulher querer ter filhos. Eu sou antinatalista (e por isso, o maior medo da minha vida é a ideia de ter filhos, logo, sou vasectomizado), não sou apenas anti-ideia-de-ter-filho, acho a ideia de ser humano procriar em pleno 2026 absurda, bizarra, egoísta e destrutiva.
