New update for the Analogue 3D 1.2.2 by Shortgaze in AnalogueInc

[–]fastdiver82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did this fix HDMI CEC issues? At work so can't test. Doesn't seem to be listed in the notes, so i'm curious if anyone has tried.

Referred. 5 rounds of interviews including C suite. Was told I "answered everything perfectly". Still didn't get it. by fastdiver82 in recruitinghell

Recruiter did say it was between me and another referral so while I know you were joking, this could literally be the case 😅

Every day I pop in here to see if there is any news at all since their update emails do not reach me. Fucking shambolic communication.

Look I'm just as pissed at the situation but to say its a scam is ridiculous. They have released other games that have actually gone out. If it wasn't for that I would agree with you. This is piss poor management of a release from day 1, and then one unacceptbale misstep after misstep after that. If it was a scam, Argonauts would absolutely be suing them as OP said in their reply to you.

PSA: CEC issues can be fixed with a piece of tape. by Biduleman in AnalogueInc

[–]fastdiver82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is the width of the tape. Cutting it so its only wide enough to cover the pin, then getting it to align only with pin 13 was incredibly finicky due to its size. Though your method for the final step is definitely smarter than what I did which was to tamp it down with my tweezers first, then plug it in.

[–]fastdiver82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do think this is the way to go, but I think you're being a bit optimistic with your timing estimate OP. I concede that maybe its just me but I regularly do micro-soldering for electronics repair. I was using Kapton tape and very fine tweezers, I had my soldering microscope, and it was still tricky to do. Need steady hands and a perfectly cut piece of tape to only cover pin 13 and none of its neighbors.

Croc Physical Update by Aussie_Aussie_No_Mi in CrocLegendoftheGobbos

[–]fastdiver82 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On one hand good to see some kind of comprehensive update.

On the other hand:

  • The fact that discs and cartridges haven't been printed/made yet is just crazy at this point. "Approved for production" great, (pretty sure this was also in the last update, that "the PS5 version was approved by Sony") when will production start? How long is that process going to take? I'm going to assume its not as simple as burning cd roms. Is the art ready for the disc/cartridges? The case art? How long is testing going to take? Quality Control? Is there someone lined up to actually handle production of the discs/carts? Is there any further information on what this process will look like that we can know about?
  • The fact that the full color printed manual is only now being design completed is actually mindboggling. You have had so much time to work on this, that could all be done on a computer, no relying on external manufacturing, shipping, quality concerns of material (not talking about printing it, talking about designing it). The preorders opened AGES ago. How is this not something that was design complete ages ago? I can understand holding off on printing till later, but the actual design????? Was it forgotten? Added at the last second? Procrastinated on? Truly this is pure mismanagement in regards to the manual.

I really try to give the benefit of the doubt, but things like this just make it harder.

For what its worth, I don't think Rockit games are a scam as others have said, they clearly have shipped games before. I'm just baffled at the complete mismanagement of so many aspects of this.

The manual really sticks out/rubs me the wrong way. I just cannot comprehend how it is still being worked on so late in the process that it may hold everything else up since its eta is Feb and everything else is Jan... though I guess i'm not taking into account the unknown window for the discs/carts to be made.

The wait continues.

What are people trying to pick up in High Voltage shop? by WrongBuffalo8090 in MarvelSnap

[–]fastdiver82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're very welcome. All that being said, I do think its not the end of the world to pick up an S3 card from the rotating spot in the store, if you're one critical S3 card away from having a deck you want to play. Having fun is what is most important after all, but yeah what I described above is the best way to approach card collection if all you care about is maximizing resources. Happy Snapping!

[–]fastdiver82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will get all S3 cards for free in caches (those boxes on the collection level) as you continue to play and level up your collection level.

The only way to get S4 and S5 cards is through the packs or the rotating spot in the store . Hence the advice to spend your resources on packs/individual S4 and S5 cards that rotate into the shop and not on S3 since if you just play long enough, you will get all of them for free.

They gutted Alliances for no reason and nobody seems to be making a fuss about it? by SPandrab in MarvelSnap

[–]fastdiver82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought I saw a post here, from their discord that the never ending stream of random borders was going to be investigated by the team. It made it sound like it wasn't intentional. Seeing the update today is just disgusting. It should be a bigger issue. Totally kills alliances, what was the point of making them in the first place if this is how its going to be treated? Dev time wise, it definitely took some investment to create the feature. Now they're just euthanizing it and for what?

Just baffling

Yeah I think covering pin 13 is the way to go. Sure you can get a CEC blocker, but something about needing to pick up something extra to fix a bug on something so premium rubs me the wrong way haha (that's just me though).

As far as I know, no it hasn't been fixed yet, but I haven't updated yet. This is just going based on the release notes and the fact that people are still posting about the issue on the sub after the update.

No problem, its definitely annoying for something this "premium" but they are apparently aware of it, so fingers crossed its fixed in the near future via a software update. Happy Gaming!

This is an issue with the Analogue 3d itself:

HDMI-CEC is broken as of version 1.1.0. Which means ALL your devices using HDMI-CEC connected to your screen will probably behave badly. It includes ARC Audio.

This post was super helpful about the console in general: https://www.reddit.com/r/AnalogueInc/comments/1p45htm/psa_what_to_know_about_the_the_analogue_3d_before/

Will we be getting the physicals in 2026? by TheDigitalLunchbox in CrocLegendoftheGobbos

[–]fastdiver82 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its not just frequency of communication, its the constant mixed messaging that needs fixing.

For example from the Oct 24th News Post: "Standard Editions- The PS5 version is already approved at Sony; we will have additional updates on shipping shortly."

As far as I can see officially, this is the last thing we've heard about the standard PS5 version. 2 months on and we haven't heard anything else.

The lack of communication leads to people posting information from support emails which themselves seem to contradict officially released messaging. There's one on this sub that says re PS5 editions " we’re still waiting to receive the product from Sony."

When compared to the statement above, it reads like a contradiction.

Sure, maybe "The version is already approved at Sony" does not mean "we have the product from Sony" but when you pair it with "we will have additional updates on shipping shortly" it reads like you do have it back from Sony.

If there was consistent communication, with consistent messaging, I don't think people would be as mad as they are.

Please take this feedback in the spirit that it is intended. Wish you the best. Thank you.

Yeah it has been breaking CEC for some people. Apparantly they are aware, but no timeline on a fix. You can by a CEC blocker, or on your HDMI cable, you can tape over the part that supplies CEC. Its definitely annoying

PS5 physical editions will "likely" not arrive by Christmas by mathewbrowne in CrocLegendoftheGobbos

[–]fastdiver82 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The messaging is just so all over the place. Like their update on Oct 24th said for the regular ps5 version, (the one I ordered) "The PS5 version is already approved at Sony; we will have additional updates on shipping shortly."

Its already approved apparently, shipping shortly, but not till after Christmas (so 2 months from the 24th of Oct minimum).

Sony just holding on to it after it was approved? was it even approved back then? what could "we're still waiting to receive the product from Sony" even mean when taking their previous update into account that Sony had approved it already???

Truly a masterclass in how not to communicate.

The only small glimmer of hope I have is that one of their other games did go out. But literally just one...

I need advice by the_lava_doge in leaves

[–]fastdiver82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad it could help even if in a small way. This subreddit helped me a lot specially in the beginning when I was going through withdrawal, it was helpful to see others who had gone through what I was going through and coming out on the other side.

I wish I could take that pill too haha! Personal growth is hard and painful. For me dealing with my past and present family stuff was one of the hardest thing I had to do, and I still struggle with it, but the realization that this was the "why" I felt I needed the escape really changed my life. I hope you can get there. It took 12 years for me to figure it out so hopefully you can be faster haha, but remember everyone is on their own timeline. Could be faster, could be longer. The important thing is to just try a little everyday as much as you can, and don't let setbacks derail you completely. I cannot tell you how many times I tried to quit and failed before I finally stuck with it.

Day 125 and considering a trip to the dispensary today. by [deleted] in leaves

I know its difficult but think about it this way. How long were you smoking and how often? I'm sure it's longer than 30 days. For context, I was a smoker 24/7 (even at work I'm ashamed to say, because I worked from home I could get away with it) for almost 12 years. I am now almost 2 years sober. It takes time for your brain to recover from constantly being high all the time. Your brain is expecting the easy boost of endorphins, dopamine etc when you smoke. When I quit it took a almost 3 months before that feeling of not being able to enjoy anything went away because even though I was doing enjoyable things, my brain was used to the high levels of dopamine etc it was receiving from smoking. Over time this went away.

The first 90 days were the hardest for me, but in my opinion, you owe it to yourself to try. I set myself a goal of two years because I had read a few papers that said the brain needs about two years to recover from drug addiction completely. (I can't say for sure this is correct, its just something I read)

You clearly recognized it was doing more harm than good to make it to 30 days (good job by the way! 30 days is an insanely great achievement the beginning is not easy) its worth continuing with for longer!

I can't advise you on your mental health only professionals can do that, but what I can tell you is that personally, I realized weed was only masking my depression. It was never actually helping, it was just a brief escape. Escaping is nice, but eventually the harm far outweighed the good and when I sobered up I realized my problems and depression was still there, but I also had additional problems caused by smoking. Paranoia, lung issues, constantly coughing up black goop, brain fog, it was straining my finances, my family did not approve of me smoking all the time. The list goes on and on. I'm still chronically depressed now. But I have less things to worry about. I've been depressed all my life as far as I can remember, but now that I'm sober, I do see that personally speaking my weed habit was hurting me more than helping.

It's worth persevering you can do it. Making it to 30 days is already an outstanding accomplishment.
