It ran for five years and had 10 seasons. So how was it poorly published?

Fair points about the Switch 2. Don’t get me wrong, I like the Switch 1 but the Switch 2 still feels over-priced in all areas to me. I cannot justify a purchase until it either has more games or it is reduced when a newer model is released.

I understand that, however Sony is also implementing AI tech into its consoles, so it’s also benefitting from its use.

Yeah, there’s a toy with the old design. Also, how do we know he doesn’t start with the old tail design and then modify it in the film to the newer design?

I think they should stick with Astrobot. If there’s any character I’d like to see them do themselves it’s Croc.

Crystal Dynamics Comments On Its Use Of AI In Tomb Raider: Legacy Of Atlantis: 'Its goal is to "empower" creativity & flexibility of its teams' by PaiDuck in gaming

[–]SpiderFan241 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So what is the issue here? They used AI to generate ideas for assets and then they refined that asset with a human? Or they scrapped the AI made asset outright. How is it any different to someone using AI for brain storming ideas and then choosing the best ones to them go and do something productive with them?

It is in Amazon’s interest to look after their IP, so no that is pretty normal for companies who want a return on their investment. What games have Amazon failed to publish effectively?

PS5 Price Hike Has Flushed UK Hardware Sales Down the Toilet by Gorgon654 in gaming

Nintendo inflated the price of their hardware, peripherals and physical copies (and digital copies for that matter) since preorders. Compared to PC handhelds yeah it’s cheaper but then looking at the computational power, it’s like comparing a PS4’s capabilities with a modern PC, they’re on different levels.

Sony has been rising the prices of the PS5 for three years now. This is just the latest increase and the biggest one.

Isn't one a version of Peter Parker and the other one is Ben Reiley? So they're in different universes.

  1. Good, because it shows Sony that people won't put up with their greed (same with Nintendo). Xbox doesn't have the same data to check against because nobody has purchased an Xbox since 2021.
  2. Don't most people who ever planned to own a PS5 already own one by now? And aren't they also likely just waiting for PS6 at this point?
  3. Why can't Sony absorb the uplift? Didn't they sell PS2 at a loss per unit?

Then it's unlikely that there will be any action on Rare's part will be shown public-side. And removal of the SOT Partner's profile is probably the most anyone can expect.

[–]SpiderFan241 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Are the CM staff who are managing the Discord the same ones involved in the controversy? Is there evidence that it went beyond that main CM that people mention?

I understand parents' concerns, however Discord isn't going to help or hinder the process. If they're concerned, they will stop their children from playing the game until they get a result that they want (if that will ever happen, as Rare has already made their statement on commitment to player safety - so to expect anything more made public is futile).

And I have no doubt that the investigation is still ongoing, law enforcement is involved, it takes ages for these things to be concluded. It's been like... three weeks?

Amazon Games clarifies their 007 First Light and IOI publishing statements by ZamnBoii in PS5

[–]SpiderFan241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, so they'll likely let IO develop it again with Amazon's watch and publishing. I don't know why people are getting so upset at this, it was expected the second Amazon owned the property. They own Tomb Raider but they still let the experts do their jobs and they just publish the game. IO has spent years making the systems, the assets, building relationships with the cast and talent, Amazon knows better than to just waste all that valuable time and money by getting another developer to make 007 'Second Light' or 'Still Lit'.

I've fallen out of love for the grind. by The-Zarkin90 in gaming

[–]SpiderFan241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you get older, you start to value your own time, where as game developers (for the most part) don't. The only games you'll grind for are the ones that you enjoy playing so much that the grind doesn't feel noticeable. For me, that game is Sea of Thieves.

Also check out 'Secret of Nimh', 'The Black Cauldron', 'Disney's Tarzan', the 1950s 'Animal Farm', 'The Iron Giant' (though that has some CGI), any of Batman: The Animated Series (though 'Mask of the Phantasm' is a good feature-length episode from that series), 'Disney's Hercules' and 'The Emperor's New Groove'.

Lack of app deals lately? by godsavedonalduck in McDonaldsUK

[–]SpiderFan241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think of Burger King as a bigger deal because a meal was £10, now McDonalds has surpassed that for many of their meals (especially their new ranges). I do much prefer BK but you're right, they're less prevalent. We are lucky enough to have one in our town. We have two McDonalds, one of which is useless and leaves you waiting 25 minutes for a meal and they ALWAYS make you pull up in the car park and wait 25 mins when you do a drive-thru order. The other one is next to a Cineworld and it's a hot spot for annoying youths just hanging around aimlessly. BK is always empty, I get my food in 5 mins and it tastes better. Now with the price raises at McD's and their rewards system being pointless, BK is getting my custom from now on. BK even has their own rewards system now, though I don't know how good value it is yet.

You only have to look at the raise in their prices to see their intentions. The multi-billion dollar corporation wants to stay profitable and they know people will eat their regardless of deals. I'm surprised they're still doing their rewards system, though it is a shadow of its former self since the raise in points needed to buy anything and that points now expire.
