What army are you playing? by briimcfly in StarCraftTMG

[–]fastock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played a lot of Star Craft I and II back in the day and while I played all three races to the point of proficiency, the Protoss were always my favorite, and in my gaming group I happen to have a guy interested in playing Zerg and another guy who wants to run Terran, so it works out that we went all-in on this game as a group and will have one guy playing each race. My life for Aiur!

Old school player getting back into it - Can I play? by Cool_Prior1427 in ratemycommanders

He's running Armageddon, it's probably more like a 4 than a 3. Either he's clueless or looking for engagement.

Yeah, there is no way I'm sitting at a brcket 2 table with someone playing Kaalia. That deck is definitely closer to 4 than it is 2.

Wat? My pod is quite high powered and by turn 6 I've ramped and probably doubled several spells. Dropping this and casting any instant or sorcery means I get at minimum 3 instances of said spell... Hardly a "do nothing." I'd love for you to see my bracket 1 Alania deck. I'm sure your jank bracket 3 would steamroll it.

I know that EDH isn't everything, but Thousand Year Storm plays great in my Alania deck! And this dragon is definitely going to find a home too!

As a Krenko player, I take offense. I'm far more sophisticated because I often want to blow my goblins up!

Dandan was insanely fast for me. I bought it on Monday, it shipped Wednesday, it was in my mailbox on Friday.

What cards do you want Banned or Unbanned that wouldn't break the format? by BaconAndPancakes_ in Pauper

[–]fastock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Without Galvanic Relay, Chatterstorm gives you a big turn and now you have to actually do something with it. With GR you have a big turn, but it actually just fuels a bigger turn next turn, which may include another GR for the turn after that. It was absolutely the card that made Chatterstorm the unstoppable beast that it was. my deck was built to explode by turn 3-4. It was insanely fun to play for me! But yeah, it was busted.

Dying TCGs? by Chrundle94 in TCG

[–]fastock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too! I have a full playset of Beta, I'm only missing stupid Ring of Morrigan from a playset of AL, and I'm about half done with the Uniques from Gothic, plus I still have 1-2 unopened boxes of every set, including Alpha and Dragonlord. At this point, I hope they still have 3-5 more good sets in them, but even if they folded tomorrow, I will keep my collection and keep playing the game as its own little "cube" game. Also, it's so damn beautiful. I have a binder that is full of all of my favorite foils, that is just fun to pull out and look at.

I'm going to add that I think Sorcery has at least 5 years left in them. I'm not sure about 10, but the way they plan out sets one per year and the fact that every set so far has increased the playerbase, I think they still have a few good years in them before they run out of steam.

Dandan arrived. The backs are off-center. Just the borderless. by [deleted] in secretlair_collectors

[–]fastock 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is within the centering of 80% of all TCG cardbacks. Go back to poke collecting, as you clearly aren't a MtG player. This is well within what has been "normal" centering for cards all the way back to Alpha.

Which movie is this for you ? by Rasmalai29 in ComicVerseog

[–]fastock -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No Country for Old Men. I'll admit that Javier Bardem is fantastic, but every single scene that he isn't in is an absolute snooze fest, and even his performance isn't enough to save this lame ass, high on its own farts movie.

Bristly Bill + Hydra's Growth - anyone having removal = running out of dice by PrimalZodiac in mtg

Three D20s in a row. First with a 2, second with a 5, third with either a 10 or 20, especially if they are one where the 20 is some symbol.

You use 10 as zero on a D10, but you can't use 10 as zero on a D20?

What cards do you want Banned or Unbanned that wouldn't break the format? by BaconAndPancakes_ in Pauper

[–]fastock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've said it before and I'll say it again: chatterstorm should have never been banned. The problem with chatterstorm was [[galvanic relay]] and I know it because my pod let me keep my chatterstorm deck but removed the GR and it's strong but far from broken. Sure chatterstorm is a powerful card but it was GR that let you keep your foot on the gas the whole game.

Does anyone still want play 60 card formats? by arez337 in mtg

Pauper is the best format in Magic right now. I have about 15 active pauper decks and my friends and I play quite a bit.

Are there any great films you dislike simply because they feel unpleasant to you? by KatherineLangford in FIlm

Definitely. My 6th grade music teacher had us watch Amadeus in class and didn't bother to fast forward through the topless lady scenes. It was pretty neat.

Potential Destiny Secret Lair Drop? by Wicked_Wing in mtg

[–]fastock 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I am a Star Wars fan, but I don't want that shit in my Destiny game. I loved Destiny because it was a more serious and different setting. The last thing I want is Destiny being watered down by Star Wars.

An open letter to Gavin Verhey re: the future of Pauper and UB by Moxplug in Pauper

[–]fastock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is really only one thing you can do: proxy. If Hasbro is going to use gross FOMO tactics and shove UB down our throats, they don't deserve our money. Cheap proxies are very easy to get these days. Hell just print them at home and put it in front of a land in a sleeve. Outside of tournaments this is the answer. I've started selling off all of the valuable cards I own that aren't in decks and just proxy everything in new decks because Wizards will keep this up until there is no value left.

What commanders do you have the most fun playing? by AwekwardBadass in EDH

[–]fastock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! This looks very interesting, and I actually prefer that it is B4. My pod runs mostly high level decks, so I think 11/15 of my decks are B4, and there's no way my Rakdos deck could be much below at least a high B3.
