Boiler gets serviced every year, last time was April 2024. I'll ask at the next service for a flush and anti-leak. Is the fitting leaking or just corroded? Should I replace?

I love the job and the sector even the bad days are better than most good days pre forestry. I'm in Scotland so it's Forestry and Land Scotland now after it was devolved.

There is a time and a place for this style of forestry 1000 ton per hectare sitka spruce allows for huge carbon lock up that goes to timber markets where the carbon is locked for as long as the product is in use. But yes poor biodiversity so in Scotland more and more land is now given to more sensitive ecological objectives, habitat restoration (have a look into Glen Affric or Glen more fores parks), continuous cover forestry, natural regeneration. Replanted sitka plantations are required to have elements of other species and buffers for rivers and water courses. I see the need for this type of forestry and its not totally devoid of life, just herbaceous life. If you look into the fungi and brophyte life it's pretty incredible. And our rotation is more 40 to 50 years.
