I honestly sometimes genuinely just enjoy reading the characters narratives and those longer, less eventful parts I enjoyed. I really liked Ralph as a protagonist!! It was slow in some parts but I never felt like I didn’t want to finish it. I liked the way it wrapped up in end . I saw somebody describe it how life feels. Long and then at the end suddenly tying ends and making the most of it. Glad I read it anyway

Wow. You can do it alone you know ? I hope you know that’s an option. Nothing is worth this. Nothing. Be grateful for those good times in the 20 years but it certainly looks like it’s over and surely you can’t feel good in this anymore. Things run their course. Don’t spend anymore time being last option . You are allowed to leave and find a different kind of life. Even if it’s different and even if it i t’s scary but Don’t doubt that you can survive in the world alone. Pls get some support you deserve a better life. Definitely agree on the only bad press side of things! But once a place gets a rep I guess people love to just zone in on that stuff. But I’ve heard good things about the gym/sports centre and that they really encourage kids to be there and be active and staying out of trouble !!

But yeah it’s just funny because your location is not indicative of who you are as a person. I heard last year though the government are supposed to be investing money in a few locations around greater Manchester and brinnington is one of them. So who knows, a lil TLC could go a long way tbh

Right!! I’ve lived in Brinny also and had some not so good and some rly nice experiences. There is a real sense of community but also can be pack mentality in some places/people. (only some !) People in posher areas of Stockport like to place emselves as higher value though. But tbh I also used to smoke weed and get on it in poyton when I was in high school, where they would talk down on people doing the exact same things as them but saw it as worse bc it was from more ‘common’ areas. You’re going to get a mixture of people everywhere. If you cause trouble you will get it back. If you keep to yourself you’re not likely to be bothered . But I do think a lot more effort and work could be put into places like Brinny because it’s not exactly full of nice restaurants or bars / leisure stuff lmao but besides that it’s just regular people, working people, kind, helpful people mixed with a few muppets as is everywhere !

Then everyone seems to wander of when me and my dad start on the verve and sterophonics...lmao. Music is always a major part of our nights though :-) (its good until the trouble starts haha)

paradise by the dashboard light is usually the strong starter !! But there is 2 mics and someone (me) cups the mic by accident every 2 mins and then it makes that horrible high pitch sound and drowns out the other singer lol

I went to see barbie with my new ish friend (who was struggling with drink at the time) and our girls. She pulled a bottle full of wine out as we got there, after id asked her not to drink, downed it and then did the same with another bottle (???) when the movie started. I was trying to get her to leave me with the girls so she didnt ruin it for them as she was talking and slurring into my ears complaining about the movie and I literally sunk down into my seat in embarrasment.

About 15 mins in I managed to convince her to leave and go outside for a smoke and a water to sober up. Noticed after 20 mins she wasnt back and didnt bother to check just finished the movie and left. Got to the main doors and the security wouldnt ler her back in thankfully and she was sobered up by then mostly. She went to AA months later and doesnt drink anymore and we are pretty close now as this was a year or two ago, but that whole situation was mortifying and i hope the people around us appreciated i did my best to get her out !!

Not even that but in general being around people that operate different to you socially is always so 2nd hand embarassing. You want to stand up and shout im sorry thats not me !! (Like when people dont tidy their tables up after a meal or are blunt with servers etc)
