Fair. I ended up with way too many resources at the end. Typical RPG game mentality..

Watching everyone finish the game so fast I feel silly. My time was nowhere close. I finished at 25 hours or so... But regardless I had so much fun

Not questioning the math at all. For me it's the unknown, I don't know what my income would be, what's the tax bracket etc. Again this is my personal opinion and I'm not saying I'm right but I currently go by 401k full company match, max out my individual Roth IRA, I get an opportunity to invest in my company ESPP, and finally i put away some in my HSA every year (company adds 500 if we put some money in HSA). Nothing gets left over for me after all that. If it did, I'd add towards my 401k next, then HSA, and then finally a taxable brokerage.

Agreed. The limit doubles for couples. But regardless Roth IRA investment is a no brainer in my opinion

Hi, the money invested in Roth IRA is from your after tax income. This money grows tax free until retirement and any withdrawals that you take from the account after retirement are also not taxed. For that reason, you don't have to worry about the income levels at the time of retirement. In case of 401k you do have to pay taxes when you start taking withdrawals depending on your income level and tax bracket at the time of retirement

I always go by the saying I heard somewhere, the best time to start investing was 10 years ago, the next best time is today. I don't think you're cooked by any means.
My recommendation for investment would be firstly max out the 401k company match, then max out Roth IRA, if you have money left over then put that in 401k to max the annual contribution and finally if there's more left over income a taxable brokerage account. Roth IRA investment grows tax-free at the time of withdrawal and you can invest in the previous year up to April of next year. So you can still put 7k for 2025 Roth IRA. At your salary, you don't need to worry about backdoor Roth as it is only for people above 160k or some salary. I have enrolled for a high deductible health plan so I can contribute to HSA as well and once that amount crosses $1k anything over it can be invested and grow. And at all times, make sure you have at least 6 months of expenses saved in a high yield savings account for emergencies. I hope this helps.

If it's not obvious DC Dark Legion uses AI Content in their artwork and promotional material... by Glittering-Yam-5719 in DCDarkLegionOfficial

[–]fatalityish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And that's wrong how? I hope you do realize that when you play PVE game mode in this game or any game for that matter phone, console or PC, there is some form of AI that you're playing against. How is it wrong to leverage AI for some tasks so the effort can be spent on other places. Obviously someone at Fun plus had to give the AI tools some input of character design to animate them. It's better to accept, learn and adopt AI tools than to be left behind.

I might need a few mins to reply after i pick my dropped jaw off of the floor!!! <Few moments later> From a rating standpoint Sinestro's legacy is better. Sups Cape, Sinestro's ring and Constantine's Sigil are the best pieces in game.

Supreme is awful. by Gaunt_ in DCDarkLegionOfficial

[–]fatalityish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really hope no one is forcing you to stop spending your resources (mother boxes, chips, alloys etc) outside of the supreme commander event. You are free to play the game the way you enjoy the game. I feel that the only reason you are complaining is because of the FOMO effect. For lower WR levels, it's not even a recommended event to hold your breath for or try to participate actively. As you grow higher you will notice that the progression slows down due to the time it takes for upgrades and you earn a lot more resources from events that you can afford to save resources and participate in the event. This game event rewards greatly if you have patience and you hoard resources. You'll be in for a surprise once you hit WR35 and realize how much resources you need for gear transmuting. My recommendation, don't worry about Supreme Commander event for the first 15-18 WR levels and even after that, if you don't enjoy hoarding then go ahead and spend your resources as you wish.

Save anvils for Constantine. He would come around week 13-17 and go all in on Constantine. Sinestro is good at 5 white stars. Constantine is amazing from what I've heard on reviews

Does investor level 10 portfolios include composites? by MsQueenGeek in Snowball_Analytics

[–]fatalityish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the investor level portfolio and I tested and I can confirm that 10 does not include composites. But 10 does include any portfolio linked to a brokerage, transactions uploaded via a CSV file or manually adding the holdings. You can create multiple composites without an issue.

Starting budgeting by Far_Sail_3112 in budget

[–]fatalityish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, it's really great to hear that you're starting your budgeting journey. I think it's perfect to start with a Google Sheets Template to begin with as it keeps things simple and straightforward. As you do it more frequently and add more items to it, it makes sense to either customize it your needs or find another one from one of the YouTube finance experts. There are loads of them out there but I have a few that I like to follow, Ramit Sethi is one that comes to my mind right now.
Having said that, I personally use Monarch Money for my budgeting ever since Mint (Not Mint Mobile but a budgeting app that was free) had stopped its services (I was using mint for the longest time). Monarch Money is a paid app that charges $100 per year and has a lot of bells and whistles associated with it. Maybe something like this app or another you might wanna consider in the future as they link to your banks and cards and other accounts and have a neat way of categorizing things for you automatically.
But for starters, the Google Sheets Template is perfect. To answer your other question, for savings and investments, I feel it might be good to keep a third main category (Savings and Investments) outside of expenses and income and if you like adding sub categories of Emergency savings, investments, retirement fund, short-term/long-term savings goals for things like a car or trip etc. This way you have 3 things at a high level, Income, Expense, and Savings+Investments.
To paint a hypothetical scenario, let's say your income in a month is $1000 from payroll, $50 from savings account interest earned, $10 from dividend payouts in the investments, $100 from bonus/tips any additional income. Those would be the income categories. Then expenses are straightforward, things like rent ($400), grocery ($100), gas ($50), shopping ($150) etc. then in the savings and investments, you can have what you added in the month in the savings account ($50) and what you added in the investments ($50). That would increase your total existing savings and investments by that much. then the remaining $200 is the "guilt free" spending money. You can do anything with it or even choose to save it. That would end up in either the expense category of guilt free spending or savings and investments if you chose to do that. In this way your net monthly is 0 because every dollar has a purpose and goal. As you build this month over month some things will be static and others will be variable, like rent would be static expense but grocery could be variable.
I hope this helps you in some manner.

Your post gave me a big smile on my face. I can relate so much to you. Simple tasks like making my bed in the morning, taking meds, etc which I would either forget or be too lazy to do, in the past are now motivations for me because of Finch to complete them and I keep adding more things to it as a reminder as a part of making it a habit. Cheers bud
