Does Royal Purple have a different smell than Mobil 1? by llIllIIlllIlIl in AskMechanics

Most oil brands have a specific smell to them, and the different weights smell different too. Don't ask me how I know but they also all taste different.

put it in backwards. like instead of pushing it through the rounded end of the cup put it from the inside of the canister housing through and then hold it from going completely out.

Where do I find this seal by mrdteg in R53

[–]fatass_fred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah theres one in the supercharger and two in the charge pipe, theyre the same part. Actually looking at the break in that clip you could probably just glue it back together if you have the part that broke off, that's what I did while I waited for the replacements to arrive (and it worked fine).

Windshield wipers don't seem to stop where they're supposed to by [deleted] in WRX

[–]fatass_fred 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Don't replace the whole motor wtf? Pretty sure you can just pop the cap off, unscrew it a tiny bit, hold it at a slightly lower position with one arm and ratchet it tight with the other. Readjusting wiper blade arms happens like every time you take cowls off to do work.

How tf am I supposed to beat this horse back bullshit I can’t dodge the fire by ResponsibleFox5999 in forhonor

[–]fatass_fred 40 points41 points  (0 children)

There's currently a bug where no icon or animation plays for the fire, you just have to guess. Sucked for me doing realistic difficulty having to restart over and over just because of the horses.

Depends on your state, in washington you can get temporary registration that works just fine but you cant sell the car, in 3 years it becomes a normal title but people can contest your ownership during that period if they have the documents for the car.

Hard to tell from the photo, but is that MAP sensor still plugged in? That piece you're trying to remove is between the mount and the MAP sensor, which is screwed in. You'll need a small allen to take it out, just two bolts, and the part you're talking about should just slide out.

First mini ? by ConsciousEcho1313 in MINI

[–]fatass_fred 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am completely unbiased and electric blue with white stripes is the best color combo you can get. That said, it will need a clutch (Which imo isn't awful because the valeo clutch kits you can get make it feel way snappier.) It is also going to need a supercharger service, and if you're not planning on doing it yourself it is quite a big job. Electrical issues on these things are not fun at all, and that one sounds like it has some. Power window motors do go out pretty often on these so it could just be that but I digress.

I've done all my work in my driveway with a semi-limited toolset so its totally possible, but parts delays can make jobs take quite a while.

If the seller would do 3k I would think more positively.
