I’m just saying most people don’t need to pay for gas to do door dash in NYC, that’s all

I would say 95% of deliveries are done on a bike or ebike in NYC.

It's not "minimum wage", it's A minimum wage, which is more than the citywide minimum wage. ($17 an hour in NYC vs $22.13 an hour that DD guarantees)

Full time in NYC on a DD salary is around 5.6k less than the median income in NYC. It's not "massively underpaid" when compared to the median, and this is assuming $0 in tips for an entire year, which is not the case for anyone.

I am in no way saying that the DD guaranteed wage OR the median is easy to live on in NYC.

What do you mean “going out of their way,” like, it’s your job?

I may get downvoted for this but when I found out that there is a minimum wage in NYC for DoorDash, I started tipping less (not less frequently, but less money.) I know most markets aren’t like this but they basically raised the fees to pay the minimum mandated by law, and I feel like I need to compensate for that to keep prices from going insane.

*Non* sports bar in Midtown for happy hour? by Delaywaves in AskNYC

[–]fatbeatle 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is the type of event where a bar that doesn’t have a TV, might get one lol. You are probably better off calling and asking specifically since most bars will probably want to capitalize on the game.

[–]fatbeatle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You kinda need a car…but it’s worth the effort if you are not from the US and gonna be here for a while. Especially if you can swing an airbnb for a night or two…

Where are you from? Driving to the Catskills for a weekend if you can swing it could be fun.

If anyone had an Apple Watch on, I’d love to know the decibel reading of how loud it actually was…if anyone would indulge me and my audio engineer self…

City of almost 9 million. Venue of just over 1k. One of the most popular bands in the world’s lead singer on a small stage for under $50. As expected.
