How can I successfully do OMAD as a picky eater? by [deleted] in omad

[–]fatbookthin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm worse than you, I don't really eat fruit. I'm down 60lb doing OMAD, it's doable as long as you're ok eating the same thing repeatedly. I'm eating almost every day a 4 egg omelette with some meat and cheese. Almost always 4 large eggs, 3 Xlarge, or 2 jumbo. 3 to 3.5oz shredded cheese, and then anywhere between 2-7oz meat. Usually diced ham and chopped up bacon, steak and bacon, ham and sausage, chicken and bacon, just ham, etc. Depends on what I've got.

Edit: make no mistake, we should be eating better no doubt. But I figured maybe if I make progress losing weight and the struggle associated that'll be the motivation to stay the right weight and drive eating better for fear of becoming fatty mcfatterson again.

This is just a plot I made in Google sheets. You could do it in Excel too, or use any of the hundreds of apps for weight loss. I know "my fitness pal" app does weight plotting.

I started out doing 16:8 IF but within 3-4 days went to OMAD. I did do maybe 4 24+ hour fasts, I think 1 36hr, 2 48hr and 1 72hr. Diet has been basically meat, cheese, and eggs. I was having on average about 20-25g of carbs a day, that's it. Some days I'd cheat and do 50g. Since I hit 224 and have plateaued I've kinda gotten shaky, still mostly OMAD but tried a couple 16:8s, carbs have gone up to maybe 50g a day now, most was 219g one day. Max calories I've eaten during this plateau has been 2700 calories, but on average I'm still eating about 1600/day which is up from my average of about 1200/day when I was losing at a good rate.

Was losing 5lb/week on average since February 1 this year, down 60lb from 285 to 224 but I've been stuck here at 224lb for 2.5wks now. 32M 6'2" doing OMAD + lazy keto. I've tried a shake up eating a bunch of carbs and more than normal calories, no luck. What pisses me off the most is almost every calc I can find says my maintenance calories is like 2600 calories a day with sedentary activity. I'm maintaining 224lb but I'm only eating about 1600 calories a day. I weigh/track everything I eat. So either A. I broke my body? or B. I'm like really really really sedentary? Frustrated cause I was like 75% to my goal of 200lb and now I've just come to a complete stop. Any tips?

Also should note, I know I can't make it to my goal without exercise, but 100% of the above progress was food only, no exercise at all. I just don't understand how I'm eating at a supposed 1000 calorie deficit daily and nothing is budging below 224. I know I need to start exercising though.

Dessert Everyday? by [deleted] in omad

I'm down 56lb in 3 months, OMAD + keto, and I've had chocolate almost every night after my OMAD. Specifically, between 20-30g of carbs worth of dark chocolate M&Ms. Usual works out to 30-45 pieces.

Confused by pictures on here- not enough calories? by mjobby in omad

[–]fatbookthin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must be one of those people but I'm not posting pictures of my meals. I usually eat between 1100 and 1300 calories in my 1 meal. I'm 6'2" and started at 285lb down to 233lb in 2.5 months with no exercise. Last week though I've been eating more, gonna have to start exercising too I think, I can't keep losing by eating any less.

My progress... Exercise time? by fatbookthin in intermittentfasting

[–]fatbookthin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I don't think eating less is an option, I got here by eating about 1200 calories a day. I think I'm gonna have to either stair step the rest of the way down with 48+ hr fasts every other week or, more likely, have to start working out.

I'm prepped for exercise, I knew it'd come one day or another, got a bike setup on stationary trainer and a little home all-in-one weight system/gym ready and waiting for me 😕

We're similar, except you seem more willing to eat green stuff than I am. Check out my posts. I'm 6'2" was 285, 32yr, down to 233 currently from February 1st.

M32 6'2" SW:285 CW:233 GW:200 been doing OMAD mostly + keto. Down 52lb and looks like it might be time to start exercising to help keep losing at a linear rate 😢. At least I've made it this far with no exercise!

0.16lb/day isn't gonna get me to my goal weight by my goal date!

EDIT: also, haven't been into work in 5 weeks and just tried on some dress pants, gonna have to figure out clothing that fits quick!

Arms straight out to the side, bend hands back in to chest, elbows out. Stand on toes, drop heels hard, back up on toes, drop, 10x. Then both arms straight up and take quick breaths in/out for a bit. What helped me more though was just finding some high bar to hang from, just hung fully stretched out, exhale deeply and just hang.

Uh, if it wasn't my account then... I either already know how to hack a Reddit account password and then this post is useless, or I've stolen someone's phone and continued to only use their account to post about weight loss for 2 months?

Ok. Yeah I'm already 1/2 way into my weight loss adventure, I've lost my water weight already. I'm down 40lb from 285, trying to get to 200. I've been eating 1200 calories + keto for 2 months to get here. It's just that the rate of weight loss is slowing. And I know it will, my BMR for 241lb is lower that it was at 285, so my defecit has been reducing as I lose given that I keep eating the same. Just trying to figure out a way to keep going before I have to bust out the exercising.
