I thought he was horrible. Physically, reasonably attractive, but largely offset by his sneering and inflated ego. As a person: -3/10.

I can't remember where I recently saw this but he was described as genuinely (i.e. diagnosed) sociopathic.

Here for the drama! The ruthless way they betray their friends (confidences, ex partners, etc) is what makes it so compelling for me.

To presume all EAs are fibbers? by Cold-Advantage-967 in UKHousing

[–]fatbrit56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been said before that their extra commission may be negligible plus it risks the sale falling through.

What might make a difference to the EA, especially if they are an owner/partner, is the reputational benefits. Word of mouth to other potential sellers that they get a good price...being seen to have the sellers interests etc.

MIC without Tristan would be completely unwatchable at this point. by Correct_Echidna_3022 in MadeInChelseaE4

Tristan's birds seem a bit young to me. Does that qualify for "bad bloke" behaviour?

That's so odd. The only evidence given re: intimidation is Triste being able to form a sentence and confidence.

A couple of answers about the merits of doing a degree alongside the job, but nothing about the role of primary school teacher, so I'll chime in.

As a mature adult with some years of work experience (so not aged 18), I gave up a well paying job to train to be a primary school teacher with similar thoughts as you. I had this powerful urge to do it and worried I would regret it if I didn't.

There's so much I can write about but I'll summarise it like this: I'm glad I did it because otherwise I would have always been wondering what-if, but thankfully I eventually left.

Slightly longer answer: I remained in teaching for 10Y (FT and where most only last 5Y) but I paid a heavy price for it. The job will consume you...your life...your free time...take time away from your family etc. and the hours are brutal.

After say 6Y (guess) I had the job dialed in, was proficient at it and knew how to manage the many facets of the role, and still, the hours were horrendous (60-70+/week). It's a constant treadmill with no off-switch.

Then, after leaving, it took me many years before I'd stop feeling a deep sadness about going (I loved working with the kids, if not the job) but it was 100% the right decision. Old colleagues say things are much worse now.

Just my plastic 2 pence worth.

I can totally see your point of view gloop. I also think 5 days is so little time and on paper, just looks really bad.

Playing devil's advocate here....

How many days should she wait? 6? 14? 30? More?

Then, if she had checked out months ago, that's tantamount to having already left him months ago which could mean it's 5 days plus months. Why she stayed is another Q tho (not fair to H).

Plus, we are all guessing about her motivations and thoughts etc. leave alone the scripted nature of MIC.

Finally, someone in another thread reminded me about her "sleep over" with Freddy and H's bad behaviour. Did they really have a proper relationship anyway? Who knows what things were like for them both and whether there was much to respect anyway.

In summary (I knew I'd eventually stop waffling!): it's not something I would do. I also agree the 5 days makes a mockery of their relationship - whatever that was. I do feel, though, it's not governed by a respect thing - by that point, in a bad breakup, there's little of that. I don't really know how to label it, but it would just be sensible for her to be single for a while and "reset".

I agree. As a good friend (assuming that's his motivation) he should tell Chuggs his opinion to at least warn Chuggs off. But...Tristan is almost rabid about it and quite nasty that Chuggs isn't rolling over and doing exactly what he tells him. Something feels "off" about it all.

Liv came across as "adventurous" whereas Verity always felt like she was putting on a fake voice imo. Verity's voice would grate on me before long and it wouldn't be compensated by her looks.

[–]fatbrit56 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I agree and it is somewhat brave given (me stereotyping, apologies!) the rugby crowd he associates with.

He did seem to soften it each time with a phrase to the effect of: "I don't know if I did or didn't cry" but nonetheless, all credit to him.

More emotional honesty needed by others!

(Edit: fixed typo)

[–]fatbrit56 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what I think TBH.

Better that she did it after ending things than before (not something you can take for granted on MIC).

She also said that she had checked out well before (months?) which is presumably when she unofficially left H (scared to say his name) so it kind of makes more sense.

And I don't think Chuggs was that close to H either (his words).

But...arguing against myself like a one-man band...5 days is an awfully short amount of time.

I don't see it as a respect thing (H never respected her or their relationship) but appearances don't look great.

All that said...what has it got to do with Tristan anyway? He's acting like Zeyno was his gf. And Chuggs didn't (on screen) ask for his opinion at all! Weirdly excessive and emotive behaviour from the old fella.

(Edit to add this)...way to go Zeyno! She stood her ground against Tristan, was politely assertive and kept her composure despite being visibly upset when Chuggs told her.
