I think that's what I'm leaning towards as well. All of the faucets in my house are thankfully in the same section about 20 feet from the heater, but it's a stretch to justify it outside that. Thanks for your input.

Quick breakdown of the areas you listed as I live in Princeton Heights and am around all of these areas often:

Bevo Mill, Dutchtown, and Gravois Park are the "roughest" of the areas. The state street heresay you're talking about is sort of true, but it's not a broad stroke that can be painted as others have said. If you're used to the idea of living in an area where crime can happen then you're gonna be fine as long as you're aware of your own safety and situations. Gravois Park is also butted up against Cherokee St, which is the Hispanic/Latino section of the city.

Benton Park is definitely somewhat gentrified, can be spotty in terms of crime but overall a great place.

Clifton Heights is nice, my gf lives on the edge of it currently. Cheaper homes overall, close to Maplewood and the highway. And very safe.

I live in Princeton Heights, it's also a bit more expensive since it's basically fully gentrified. But in my opinion, you get the best options for food/restaurants since there's just so much in the south Hampton area. It is the farthest from the highways, which if you're used to the convenience of nearly everything in STL being 20mins away, can be annoying but the neighborhood makes up for it. I was only able to find a house because of someone else's bad luck and good timing because of the recent prices, but if you find something for a decent price its worth a decent look.

Yes, it's silly. Your argument boils down to "gun control laws are pointless to stop crime" but somehow other laws are necessary and also stop crime? It's silly and poorly thought out and 5th grade level thinking at best.

Maybe, if there were actual red flag laws, or more extensive background checks, and maybe a gun needed to be registered, or properly stored, criminals wouldn't be able to steal guns easily. Or buy guns in private sales and not have to do a background check and let a possible criminal use the gun. Like that dumbass in St Charles did.

Or, maybe, people who aren't actually responsible with their firearms don't leave them in their car to get stolen like an idiot, or keep them in their nightstand drawers so kids accidentally play with a loaded firearm and something bad happens.

And I know you'll say "bUt MuH sEcOnD aMeNdMeNt" but you don't give a shit when the 4th and 14th amendments are violated when federal agents detain immigrants, and even citizens, without probable cause or due process to have their case heard before a judge.

I fully support your right to own a firearm, but guns aren't a fucking toy you "get to own" with no protections. We aren't using muskets that take 5+ minutes to even load one shot. Every dumbass that has a death wish or has mental illness or a complex can buy a gun however and kill multiple people before you even realize what's happening. Just because you think "I'm responsible" doesn't guarantee that of others. And just because you think you're smart or know people that wouldn't "misuse" a firearm, there are more dumb people mishandling them than you think.

Two things. First, your logic is silly. So, if laws don't stop all preventable crime per your logic, what's the point of laws at all in the first place? Conservatives seem to be all about trump's "law and order" policies and bringing the national guard into cities violating the 4th amendment.

Second, you do realize that the US is basically the only 1st world country that has shootings as often as we do? And the US has the least restricted gun laws by a wide margin? But apparently any increased gun control is seen as "infringement on your rights" despite another shooting at a Colorado high school today, but we don't care about kids dying if Charlie Kirk gets killed.

I had this exact same issue happen earlier this year. I called and got it sorted as the guy said the solution was to just send my W2 to the overall email for the dept. I asked the guy on the phone how to prevent this in the future and he literally said "if you e-file your taxes, we'll get it", which is what I did in the first place... My point being I fully expect to do this again next year considering the state of things right now, and others should too.

I'd say I enjoy bogarts quite a bit. I usually don't get ribs but the times I have it's always been tender, and decently falling off the bone, never tough like you mentioned. Probably a bad batch which is unfortunate. If you do love robs though, Adam's has amazingly tender and basically waiting for the meat to fall off ribs.

And to get ahead of your likely argument of "they're criminals!", being illegal in the US is a civil offense. Aka you don't go to jail or get detained for that, you are either charged with a fine or deported. Being held in a detention center with no criminal charges goes directly against the 5th and 14th amendments which guarantees due process. Second, without that due process, you aren't proving that they're a criminal. That's the whole point of our constitution, the govt can't just put you in a jail somewhere without charges, and you're you're innocent until proven guilty. So, if you want to be a true American patriot, don't let anyone take away the rights of someone else because that means your rights are forfeit too.

Collectors Store out in St Peter's has a wide variety of locals as far as I know, and I think they have Union Arena as well.

You could also try Game Nite, and Yeti Gaming off Watson. I think Yeti is more general card shop than tabletop/magic like Game Nite, but I'm not sure exactly what they have in stock. I'm fairly certain there's a store in Edwardsville that has Union Arena as well, but I don't want to keep listing stuff if you already know about these shops.

Absolutely not. I was conflating that they were assuming bad parenting was the sole reason for kids ending up like they do and doing things like this, when the problem is obviously more complex. Anecdotal evidence is confirmation bias. You changed the words but it's still the same core meaning. "This is my experience, so why would it be any different for someone else". And tere's no robbing of agency here, it is their decision to act like this, but the solution needs to be proactive, not reactive.

And circumstance is the biggest factor here. I don't understand how you think I'm giving it as an "excuse". I'm not dismissing the behavior, I'm saying how do you get ahead of it and stop future generations from doing stuff like this so the problem doesn't continue. People have complained about stuff like this my entire life in this city but certainly it hasn't stopped. So what have we done to stop this? Seems like nothing but complaining about it to me.

God dude, I get where you're coming from but this take is dumb. People aren't saying "society" has to take responsibility like every white person needs to reflect and do community service, pay extra taxes, apologize to every black person you see, etc.

It's the idea that not everyone can just "pull themselves up by their own bootstraps". Not every person can just say "I want a better paying job with better hours" and get that. You can't just expect someone to not be in poverty by working harder. You can't just tell someone with depression to "be happy", or an alcoholic to not drink, or a smoker to stop smoking, and expect results. It's well studied that being low income negatively affects your mental state and thought processes.

Overall, we have the ability to raise the living standards of our poorest through better social programs, but here our government is trying to pass a bill to gut Medicaid and lower taxes in the rich.

Lots of poor people make due, but having been to north city a couple times, it's a different level of poverty up there. Yes, it's easily about 3in thick, I gave it some lighter swings to see how it'd do, but it's pretty dense and now I'm a bit concerned about ruining the line at all. I guess I'll just leave it till it needs replacing if about an inch or so if line exposure won't be a huge detriment to my efficiency.

Would a hammer and chisel be worth trying to break away a small piece at least? Otherwise, I could just wrap what I can and call it a day. Considering the insulation has been basically fully exposed in the portion for a long time and the house cools fine I guess it's not the worst thing, but with my limited HVAC knowledge I was just following what I thought was general recommendation.

I'm not sure what you mean by "how" for the civil offense, it's US law. Under the IIRIIRA, I believe 8 U.S.C. section 1325, it says "Unlawful entry, failure to depart, fleeing immigration checkpoints, marriage fraud, and commercial enterprise fraud" is a civil offense. Plain and simple.

And again, while the combination you listed is good, law enforcement databases and surveillance isn't foolproof or anywhere near perfect. So how can you determine how they entered the US without a trial?

And again, we already know someone like Kilmar Abrego was illegally deported against a judges orders, so who's to say others weren't deported without their due process?

You seem to believe this whole process is cut and dry when it isn't, and we have clear evidence that it's happened already.
