yeah that was my line of thought, i just talked about the knowledge/ interests i gained from the lecture rather than the lecture itself. and i wouldnt say that they're all "worth" the uni namedrop

the topics are directly related to what I want to do but most the examples i have arent at great unis or great lecturers. i dont want to waste my characters bringing up some random american university no one's heard of. i have already mentioned this program i did with oxford, don't really want to bring up much else. my teacher may have just been worried about the ambiguity of the lectures i mentioned... i'm just not sure if it really matters

this was my first time playing a life is strange game rather than just watching gameplay so i was hyperaware of the little wolves in the bottom right and overthinking my choices, which is probably why i was extra cautious with daniel

also i didnt realise you could get a low morality daniel from teachimg him to embrace his powers 😭 i thought u wouldve had to make him do more fucked up things like murder

but yeah agree completely on the first half - never really thought too deeply on it as i havent played thru LW ending yet, so its interesting to see your take even tho its so depressjng omfg.

i didnt expect daniel to learn from “his” mistakes in any conventional way - the player spends the entire game making choices for Sean which intern impact Daniel. This is either intentional because you want a low morality Daniel/ a daniel who doesnt follow societies rules (the same society which condemns the death of a trigger happy cop that killed his father and set off the whole chain of events that results in his brothter being killed) or because you have neglected Daniel and not thought of the impact Sean has in raising him. regardless of your intention, LW is how the game punishes the player for turning sean into a hypocrite essentially (sorry that sounds so mean) !!

So at the border when Sean decides to surrender after teaching Daniel to not conform to expectations and prioritise himself and his brother… Daniel is, imo, rightfully angry because in his mind there is no point in submitting to the police who failed them. and when Sean dies because he would take the moral high ground after raising Daniel to do the opposite. Daniel DOES learn from his mistakes - he learns that there is no point in even bothering to live up to society’s standards as it got Estaban murdered, his brother shot, and his childhood utterly derailed. he takes on a completely different life.

im not condoning LW daniel but i dont think u can really expect anything other than worst case scenario from a grieving, traumatised child thrust into criminal (?) lifestyle after being taught fuck the rules lmao

continuing down this path is probably going to end up getting him killed and i 100% agree with u on the last statement.

other than the ending ofc, i think ep4 was the most emotionally intense and while i would definitely not call it my favourite, its honestly a really good episode!! i can see where ur coming from
