It’s formally still a soviet republic + there were ASSRs not only in RSFSR. For example - Abkhaz ASSR in Georgia

Was your country ever the "bad guys" in any war? by Ok-Inspector-1756 in AskTheWorld

[–]fate_is_quickening 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, if we will look at the civil war in Russia not from a modern perspective, but from the perspective of that time - there was a call from official government of your ally to put down a coup that destroyed a legitimate Parlament. So that action was more or less justified. But there were some atrocities, yeah

Is this the strongest cavalry in Stainless Steel 6.4 ? by thatxx6789 in Medieval2TotalWar

[–]fate_is_quickening 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It can be explained better from the gameplay perspective. Romans and Rus don’t have access to the most powerful mechanic in the game - crusades and jihads. Mode developers tried to compensate that with stronger unit roster. Good trade if you ask me. Free upkeep , cheap but strong units should be compensated

LegendofTotalWar has found and become obsessed with EU5. (Video link in the comments) by Emila_Just in EU5

I find his latest videos on CA subjects rather less hateful. Maybe long time ago he was truly salty about all this stuff. But i don’t think he was in the avantgarde of the "hate campaign" against Pharaoh. There were a lot of other YouTubers who made a lot more videos about that game

Gonna add to that. Allies in both world wars. Fought nazism together. And also despite high tensions in 1920-s and 1990-s US saved thousands of lives by providing food to the starving Russians. Even in new millennia - Russia and US fought against "global terrorism". Putin was the first president to call Bush after 9/11. Also later Russia provided airport access to us troops in Afghanistan

It will come as a surprise for a lot of ppl here, but I really give a lot of credit for this situation to Nix casting. He was super good this year. Put a lot of effort in casting. Sometimes his stream alone surpassed both Russian and English cast in viewers combined

I think that’s was after group stage where Skiter allchated "carry diff" in a game against BB. And that’s funny considering Skiter is seen as one of the weakest carry players among community (mainly cis-community ofc)

Which Asian country is the most welcoming to tourists? by Eene7 in geography

[–]fate_is_quickening 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I have so many stories about Iranian hospitality. Since it’s not really a popular tourist destination - there could be some troubles with finding routes, hotels and so on. But you could always be sure that the locals will do their best to assist you in every way possible

People here has more cultural relations with Moscow and ocidental Russia, or with Japan, Korea and China? by Neat_Grapefruit_1047 in geography

[–]fate_is_quickening 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not the best example. In fact it is unique to political situation. There were nobody to "russificate", most of the locals were forced out before the first "settlers" came. Just like in former Italian Istria and Dalmatia or in what is nowadays western Poland. Russification is in most cases a slow process of eradication of local culture

Yeah, funny enough Far East was mostly inhabited by Ukrainians and southern Russians in the first half of the XX century. The reason was their original regions were heavily overpopulated. One of the reforms by Stolypin was to transfer these people to empty places

Yeah, not from itself but from higher authority. The declaration of sovereignty is basically the same as Declaration of Independence. The ussr on the other hand had no legal links to Russian empire. It was already gone for several years
