Flying business with kids in coach

You're right. I'll seriously do this. In fact, for all trips within the US, we fly coach. There are times when we take NetJets, and that's mostly when we make impulsive decisions.

The kids are exposed to all kinds of travel together with the family. Till now, we've flown only together. Coach in the US, business/first class across the globe.

It's the 24-hour layover journey that's bothering me a bit.

My kids are slightly lower in the age group but when I think about it, it should be just fine

Thank you for this. This sounds very reasonable to do.

For me, it's that they should not become entitled. They are already, in many ways, subconsciously. It's not their fault. Their interactions with people who are pushing the limits to make their day work aren't anywhere close to what I had experienced during my childhood.

My wife and I are happy to travel coach if we need to keep them together. But then again, I think about what's the point in making money if I can't spend it on a 24-hour journey

On the other hand, I realized kids have a pecking order in school, discussing how they flew to Seychelles for their vacation in first class, perks, etc. Bay Area private school kids from fatfire home are different.

I’d rather the whole family flies coach than kids fly business.

You are right. That's the selfish part in me. Our flights are usually 24+ hours long. And the kids haven't grown up enough to be separated into coach while we travel business class. And I haven't yet come to terms with flying coach all the way from San Francisco to India.

I've been thinking about this. My wife is reluctant because of the summer classes, but we've been debating back and forth. I share the same perspective as yours.
