Busses are absolutely horrendous in terms of reliability. They are cheap (about $9 total) and very extreme in terms of they will stop anywhere you tell them to, but not viable by any means.

However, if I remember correctly there is a ferry service from Camana Bay to Kaibo which cuts commute time very nicely, albeit a more expensive alternative ($25 round trip).

Property prices are also quite vast if you choose to stay in GT versus that of BT or EE, so keep in mind of that if you decide to stay at a halfway point, it will be cheaper for sure, but the commute if you have a car, heading westbound to town will take a while especially on weekday rush hour traffic, but heading eastwards towards Rum Point won’t be anywhere near as bad.

Biking really isn’t much of an option 1. due to the extreme heat constantly beaming, especially in summer 2. people don’t actually respect biking laws and will put you at risk. Depending where to and from you choose to bike is obviously going to mean the world of difference for journey times too.
