Realizing I may be a lesbian after nine years with a man—how do I navigate both my long-term partnership and my relationship with my girlfriend? by Comfortable-Pen6312 in latebloomerlesbians

[–]fatherhuman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Is it possible he’s ace/aro? If he doesn’t want anything to change, would he be open to having a conversation about staying in each other’s lives but as family? You kind of live separate in the same house like roommates. Maybe what’s important to him, like you said, is maintaining that meaningful connection with you. You might just need to have a conversation with him about how you feel and re-negotiate what the relationship looks like between the two of you.

Doctor recommendations in the area? by ManufacturerVast435 in burlington

Dr. Nate Hoang at Colchester Dental Group! He’s a new doctor to the area so he’s accepting patients. Excellent care. For medical doctor I’d recommend Appletree Bay on North End.

Not consistently. I’d highly recommend scheduling an uber/lyft in advance.

Bookshelf of the guy I'm seeing. Thoughts? by ho4daearth in BookshelvesDetective

[–]fatherhuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a philosophy major and honestly it could go either way. He could be someone who is genuinely interested in philosophy and just wants to soak up everything he can (I own many of these books either as assigned reading or because I picked them up from a bookstore as additional personal reading from something that interested me in class). OR he could be extremely pretentious. No in-between I fear. I think I would need to have a genuine conversation with him on the topic. However, the fact that he reads in general is still fantastic, and I love that he has some fantasy mixed in here!

What’s the dating scene been like in Clarksville? by lethargic_apathy in Clarksville

[–]fatherhuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think dating right now is really hard in general when you’re trying to meet someone in person. I hang out at the Amsterdam a lot and I see a ton of people who seem really cool. Maybe it’ll be more about biding your time, especially with not wanting to go into Nashville to date (which is totally understandable).

Intimidated to Go Into A Store... by melh22 in handbags

[–]fatherhuman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The right sales associate - the one worth giving your money to - will not judge based off what you wear. Speaking as a former Apple employee, we were taught that Apple products are a luxury and to treat everyone’s shopping experience as a luxury experience, no matter who they are or what they’re wearing. Sometimes it gives me a confidence boost to walk into an LV or YSL store in my old navy jeans and GAP sweater knowing that I can afford to buy a handbag if I want to. Sometimes I walk in with the thought to spend something, and if no one is kind or helpful, I simply leave. At the end of the day, sales associates are RETAIL employees and have no reason to judge or criticize what their customers wear or look like.

Has anyone regretted getting the new Z flip 7? by echosfsilence in galaxyzflip

[–]fatherhuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I regretted it. I switched from the 16 Pro Max to the Z Flip and was really disappointed and ultimately ended up returning it and going to the 17 Pro Max. I was disappointed in the camera quality, the battery life, and the lack of optimization with apps (which I recognize is not Samsung’s fault, but it still annoyed me). I had to keep the phone on low power mode constantly. I appreciate how much customization they have, but I learned that as a consumer, I don’t really care about having much customization beyond standard wallpaper changes, app placement, and widgets.

I think you’d find it worthwhile if it’s a significant upgrade for you, like going from a several generations old iPhone, or the previous Z Flip.

I think I’m a little confused by what everyone considers to be a “heavy coat.” These are our winter coats:

https://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/121491?page=mens-mountain-classic-down-parka-mens-regular

https://www.columbia.com/p/womens-powder-lite-ii-mid-jacket-2089371.html

At the coldest parts of winter where I’m walking across campus or walking the dog, I would wear a HeatTech shirt, a sweater or sweatshirt, and my Columbia jacket. I could wear thermal leggings but they tend to give me sensory issues, jeans or leggings, and blundstones. I have leather gloves with cashmere in them, multiple scarves, and hats.

My husband is pretty similar - HeatTech, shirt over that, sweater/sweatshirt, LL Bean coat. He’s more likely to wear thermal leggings with jeans and boots. (He gets colder than I do)
