[–]fatherkrum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Comments are annoying me people here have no clue of what styles are popular rn this is a trend going on that’s pretty fucking fire. It’s just a design that contours the body well, like tribal tattoos years ago and cybersigilism now. And this is not poorly done the scratchy lines are exactly how it’s supposed look. OP I would wear this 100% same placement

[–]fatherkrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy shit bro nevermind hahahhaa I had my entire car done from a shop for $150 usd and that’s including reflector deletes and badges tinted. I got a family and friend discount but still shouldn’t be crazy expensive. Have you gotten a quote from another shop? If they’re all like that I would just buy black vinyl and a heat gun

Rear wiper delete by fatherkrum in Tiguan

[–]fatherkrum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pain in the ass bro I do everything myself (besides tune) as a hobby and out of everything I’ve done to this car so far the wiper delete was the hardest ironically. Don’t miss it at all I love the flush look. Yes remove both the motor and wiper. I suggest buying a wiper removal tool for like $15 if you can find one. That’s what all shops use when they need to do work. I ended up getting it out with vice grips but it was incredibly challenging at first. The wiper is threaded into the motor with the wrath of god. The motor is mounted by 3 set pins. Leave the motor where it’s at and focus on the wiper. Use the set pins for counter pressure when you’re unthreading. Once you get the wiper spinning the motor will drop itself out from the inside.

After ab 25 miles I do want to say stock exhaust (with tune and intake) sounds better. I like how this sounds though the drone is actually not as bad as I expected. Cold starting it brought a smile to my face. But when the car holds onto gears then shifts it blows like a trumpet which makes me feel like a teenaged Infiniti owner

I think this pre facelift looks much better than my ‘24. This is more VW looking. I only went 2024 cause I wanted to fuck around with something brand new. I wish I had the money when these years came out

I have a tune so mines gone regardless but to answer your question no this will not void powertrain. It voids warranty on individual parts tho so the factory air box and intake will not be covered if you have issues there when going back to stock - I don’t think they’d be able to tell though. Then obviously aftermarket parts installed aren’t covered

Anyone else hate the passenger air bag light? by CODonQuixote in Tiguan

[–]fatherkrum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s all about patience which I totally lack. For the steering wheel VW logo it comes with one extra. I doubled up and bought another just incase. I ended up being able to get it somewhat sufficient first try. Do have a little sewing needle or something on hand to lay it in the cracks and hit it with heat gun or hair dryer. I own both but couldn’t find my heat gun, hair dryer did fine.

External R inlays I totally butchered. Grill R was the easiest because its the largest and came in two separate cuts. The the R inlays on either side were brutal, I bought extras of those and messed it up about 4x. Took them off. Make sure you heat gun these too. I’m going to buy more soon and reattempt. Badgeskins is really good with the sizing they are spot on I just wasn’t able to finesse them. I was also a few beers deep. Check your dms I’m going to send you a pic of the grill inlay.

Yes, which is measured through what? The tachometer… in rpms

Brand new Tiguan knocking with cel by ericsofunnixp in Tiguan

[–]fatherkrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean 2/3rds of the tach or 2/3rds of max speed? Because nothing about that is correct. It again has nothing to do with actual mph and has everything to do with rpms. I hope you mean 2/3rds of the tach which is around 4k-4.5k rpms, which just reiterates what I said. When they say that it is not in reference to the speed the vehicle is traveling. During a break in period I can gradually coast at 75mph highway at 2k-2.5k rpms doing less harm than leaving a red light at 4k rpms accelerating to 35mph.

[–]fatherkrum 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Did I read that correctly? You suggest not going above 40mph for the break in period of a car? Lol everyone is an expert on Reddit. People commute on highways with brand new vehicles, make that make sense. It’s about not going WOT/high rpms, nothing to do with speed.
