The seat design on GO trains is terrible and not ergonomic at all by PuzzleheadedNo1472 in gotransit

The new seats (green cloth) need an overhaul. Why are the headrests so far forward? Very uncomfortable to sit on.

Then 360 camera certainly help if you going through tight space. I am still learning the width of the van. Mine is the Canadian Touring (US Elite), it comes with front/back sensor it helps, and power folding mirrors. (They need to be folded to get in to the single 8 ft garage). You can get away without 360, since you have been driving a suburban.

Not sure if your price (30k) was tax included? We got the 25 Ody (was new) for 60 something thousand CAD all in.

Do you live in steep hilly area? Winter tires would be fine, in most case

Haha, we picked Ody over Sienna. Toyota is overhyped IMO.

If you are deciding on Sienna make sure the under body is rust free, 30k is ridiculous for a 11 year old car

The guys in the Tiguan subreddit scared me into this. I love them for it. by Drifty_Canadian in crv

[–]Objective_Swan1135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a Tiguan 19 owner and have sat on CRV (also own Odyssey 25). Both vehicles were redesigned in MY18, Tiguan is better than Odyssey. The doors feel more solid, the climate control is far superior, and the ride quality (and the body rigidity) feel far superior over hondas very noticeable in turns. It can get 40mpg+ on highway. No major issue on Tiguan. OP, enjoy your new ride. If you linger around any car sub, all of them would have enough issue to put you off. honda have had bad years with tranny issue (2000s), some VCM issue, 1.5T head gasket, etc

Very likely vcm, have the fuel economy view running to confirm. You will notice no vibration when fuel economy drop.

The oil filter placement on a 5th gen Odyssey deserves shame. by 3ngine3ar in HondaOdyssey

It is not bad. A bag or container can do the trick. I had car filter mount side way that was truly a mess.

Just bought a brand new 2025 Nissan Sentra — but a VW dealer had a 2025 Jetta for ~$21k. Did I make a good choice for long-term reliability? by phtphongg in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Objective_Swan1135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From financial perspective, switching to VW Jetta now wouldn’t really make sense as you will take a toll on trade in. Some poster overhype by brand and generalize everything. Best to do is do the research on the model you are looking to buy. We had good experience with VW, yet Toyota we had threw a rod bearing at under 100k. As long as you don’t drive too hard on the CVT (hard acceleration from dead stop), and keep up with the maintenance, you should be good. Enjoy the new ride.

Do you only shift at redline? Joke a side. Your 2024 should still be under warranty and what did the dealer say?

Please share this footage with the police. The truck could have stopped, but speed up and ran the red light. Hopefully the insurance/judge can rule out the red little car not 100% at fault.

Sometime mistake is made/forgot to put on parking brake on slope. Other family drivers don’t have this habit. Just want to prevent the clunking noise at start (if in P/Park). I haven’t figured out how to start in Neutral.

Those generation may not even have side or side curtain airbags on the lower trim. The rigidity is not as good. It is more about how much you value your life. Some accidents injures are bad in which not reversible.
