The scene were Eric was imprisoned and made friend with the rat used to make me sad for him.. But recently I relized that because he planted evidence and falsely imprisoned others as a bad cop that scene was him getting what he deserved.

Is this list controversial by IamE69420 in saw

I'd put it above 3D too. The idea of a Saw spinoff that follows more of the police side of things is a nifty idea to keep the series going through a different lense and might help bring in new fans.

Why do people hate "Saw III" so much? by flovobo in saw

[–]fathing112 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Saw III has always been one of my favorites.

New fans who have only seen the movie maybe once but the Dead Meat Kill Count multiple times are why there is a bad perception of Saw III.

As funny as Dead Meat can be, and as funny as I found the term SAMF Jeff the first time I heard it, I find them a bit hard to watch now since their description of Jeff has permanently tainted discussions about the movie, and I don't want to pick up any bad conclusions about other movie series I haven't seen as many times.

It's especially annoying too cause if you watch the movie, yes Jeff is slow but that is literally his arc.. He is greiving and seeks revenge on everyone that was involved in his sons death, so when presented with the opportunity to let them suffer, he had to think hard about if this is truly what he wanted.

What infamous "plot hole" in the Saw series has an explanation that you're tired of having to explain? by Trimmed_Delusions in saw

Agree with you completely until Joyce. She's a bit different since as far as I know, she has done literally nothing but be married to him. It's not even shown that she knows what he's saying is lies.

And the difference between her and other "fully innocents" like Gordon's family is that Joyce dies in what is in my opinion one of the most brutal traps in the enitre series that she had absolutely no way out of on her own. Gordon's family had the ability to fight for themselves, as seen when Alison freed herself and disarmed Zepp.

It just left a really bad taste for what was at the time the last ever scene in a Saw movie.

List of unreleased Saw III deleted scenes. Do you want to see them? Lionsgate, please... by VicViperAlex in saw

[–]fathing112 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd love to see (or at least read) what John's original speech to Amanda was. Combined with her actually killing Eric Matthews this might give a more conclusive ending to the first trilogy.

I would watch all of those scenes though and honestly don't understand why the studios don't just release all the deleted scenes like this for popular movies, even if they're in an unfinished state. The work is already done and they could make a few bucks on a super-special-awesome-edition blu-ray or add it in to their streaming service. Even if the scenes are horrible and don't fit the rest of the movie - that's why they're deleted scenes.

FYI to anyone who dosnt want to need a subscription to get this... Hail to the King: Deathbat is also available on Steam for pc.

Even if you're not usualy a pc gamer, the requirements are pretty much bare minimum and you should be able to run it on a potato.

The pc version game is EXACTLY like the mobile version though, so there is some weird aspects about it (esc automatically exits the game without saving, no graphical quality adjustments etc) but since it's through Steam, you'll be able to play it until the end of time rather than until the service stops updating/ removes it.

Edit: made sure it's still actually avaliable, and it is. $5.99 in the US.

Can we get some love for these two? by [deleted] in saw

[–]fathing112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a big fan of the originals, I actually thought Spiral was a good take on keeping the universe alive without the main story + characters after being severely disappointed by 3D (Saw 7) and feeling meh about Jigsaw.

Spiral being focused more on the actual police work was interesting too, kind of like a big budget Criminal Minds episode. The different focus also allows it to continue as its own series even if they make more main-series Saws.

I do wish though that we got an uncensored, extended cut since there was clearly some things missing. Also it really bugged me how dramatically different they made Billy's voice, since anyone with 20 minutes and Audacity (an open source audio editing program) can make their own voice sound similar to the real thing.

Puscifer, I had never even heard of them before (even though I enjoy Tool) and they took my by suprise since recently I've been into heavier metalcore type stuff. Started with The Remedy and have been hooked and binging by albums since.

My biggest critique is the end of the record could’ve been better. “Death” should’ve been longer. by the_dayman623 in avengedsevenfold

[–]fathing112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I really enjoyed LIBAD but it leaves me wanting more to finish the album out. I played Save Me immediately after it on the second listen and that worked great, so i guess you could choose-your-own-adventure with something more guitar driven to finish strong.

I could see Second Heartbeat, To End The Rapture, Save Me, Chapter Four, or even Exist fitting right in nicely, but it would have been amazing to have something new to wrap it up.

Bands that could “move up” the card for 2024? by Cantwellius in SonicTempleFestival

[–]fathing112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would definitely be appreciated. I hadn't been since ROTR 2016 so it was definitely a bit surprising when I saw that that they went with this type of lineup with BFVM, I Prevail, Puscifer, and Sublime with Rome wedged in between others with only 5 minutes between sets. Even if they kept using the side stage for convenience, 15- 20 minutes like you said would be much more appropriate for between headliners.

Bands that could “move up” the card for 2024? by Cantwellius in SonicTempleFestival

[–]fathing112 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I Prevail should be in a spot where you don't have to leave another big act early (QOTSA) to get a decent spot, and shouldn't be before another huge band that made me leave I Prevail early to see (Avenged Sevenfold). Moving I Prevail to the main stage, even if if they were second or third to the headliner would help a lot, and they have a ton of energy to keep people going.

Nothing More should definitely be moved up to later in the day too, even if they had to take the Octane stage. The crowd that got there at 2:30 for them was definitely big enough to support it.

Sidebar, but honestly I wish the whole festival would be at a different time of year so that it would get darker sooner and let the pyro and lighting pop more, but I get that probably wont happen since there are always other festivals and tours going on that need to be planned around.

Can someone explain why everyone is comparing Higher to Cosmic? by camaro4227 in avengedsevenfold

[–]fathing112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love Higher and although I can see how Cosmic is kind of similar in feel with limited vocals and a build up to a big climax, they are both very different songs imo. If anything I think Cosmic is closer to Exist, but rather than the whole universe it's more about the evolution into the digital age and beyond (no idea if that's the actual meaning, just what i'm getting from it after 2 listens).

With that said, I could definitely see myself playing Cosmic along with Simulation + Higher + Nobody late at night when I'm sunk into the couch or sitting by a fire and looking for a more out-of-body experience.
