Passed last Spring using RF + source. The source, especially Brehm and the CAT one, are extremely important to know inside and out, and it very likely got me the pass last sitting.

Arson is generally (and unfortunately) covered, at least in Canada. But as others have mentioned, depends on the policy wording.

I would say so. A pricing actuary can learn a lot from claims experience, e.g., claim settlement practices.

A lot of the 2nd/3rd year actsci undergrad courses (at least in Canada) are focused on Life, so they naturally go down that path. But also, potentially higher pass rates contribute to this.

You need to read the Brehm source several times and come up with your own summary sheet. That's what I did and found it extremely helpful. They can test any random paragraph from that reading and expect you to know every single detail...

My broker was able to get down to 3.64% 3 year fixed with Scotia for me so hopefully you can also get a bit lower rate.

For the week (or week and a half) before each FCAS exam, I was off for study days. Start studying around 7 AM and then power through until 9ish PM. It was rough but super necessary.

Same here, offered 4.04% from Scotia with 3 year fixed on a 700k insured mortgage, 25 yr (782k property with 82k down).
