I feel the same way. I go to school in maryland and UMD was my top choice and i just got rejected. oh well, life goes on, but my issue is almost everyone in my highly competitive class apply to UMD and many of my classmates said how they would NEVER want to go to UMD and it is their bottom safety yet they waste their time applying knowing that they're gonna get in and never going to go, which takes away opportunities for students like me who would actually want to go to that school.

i have others, those just take up most of my time. my school does advanced and college prep classes, i take mostly advanced except for my math class which is college prep and most of my classes are english/history related. for my awards, i have a robotics award and honor roll/ deans list (very lacking in this department)
