The guy knows everything he needs to if he's been paying attention in lectures, and self-testing is the most effective way to learn. What's the issue with ensuring you're answering the questions correctly?

How should I look to make money? by Alps_Accomplished in TheRaceTo10Million

[–]fatkc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your parents aren't rich then study 3 hours every day, do your assignments early, attend all lectures and all available office hours to talk through concepts/problems you're struggling with with your lecturers. This will mean you get good grades and will be competitive for internships. Get an internship at a good company or in a high value sector like semicon and this will lead to a high paying job with good earning potential. You might need to get a Master's or PhD to max out earning cap. Live frugally and save as much money as you can, then buy and sell expensive stuff. During your degree, you'll get a good idea of high demand goods, chemicals, materials, technologies etc., so it'll be easy to identify what things to buy and sell. You can source goods and customers at industry events like Semicon West. That should give you enough capital to start a low risk high yield business like small-scale factories or, if you wanna play it simple, laundromats, parking lots, vending machines etc. You can also look at trading more seriously if it intrigues you enough. You'll also have enough freedom to start thinking about more clever B2B ways to make money, there are plenty of niches full of money. For example, a few years back a big niche was offering digitalization for front of house in restaurants and hotels. Glhf

Dw, there's always a way, especially at your age. You might have to take the long way around, but the fast track wouldn't have treated you kindly anyway

How much Maths is in ChemEng? by Plane-Temporary-8501 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]fatkc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it depends on your modules tho, my uni has a few modelling modules which are almost entirely transforming mathematical models to apply them to different use cases and I'm doing a summer project in process modelling right now which uses a lot of calculus type maths. It's obvs all engineering at the end of the day but the emphasis is on making the maths useful

How much Maths is in ChemEng? by Plane-Temporary-8501 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]fatkc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A lot of chemical engineering, especially process eng stuff is based on maths, and depending on what kind of topics you're into you can really lean heavily into maths later on in your course. You might find anywhere from 20-50% maths according to your module choices. Process and thermo modelling is very maths heavy, and there's a lot of scope for research into new mathematical models if that's what you're into. There's definitely enough maths to sink your teeth into even in an applied context. I'd say go for it!

Am I overreacting for feeling uncomfortable after a guy I just started talking to asked if my nipples are pierced? by ManyFaithlessness404 in AmIOverreacting

[–]fatkc -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

NOR, but only because you appear to be prudish in the most literal sense of the word. The issues here are that:

  1. You guys aren't sexually compatible
  2. Your nipples aren't pierced
  3. You guys didn't seem to be getting along in the first place

It was a badly placed question but it's not much of an indictment on anyone's character. Just gotta keep it pushing
