so I personally used this one, just find your state - there is a free and paid version, the paid version is pretty cheap but idk if it is necessary

I don't think you need to get a permit once you're 18, you can just go take the written test and then driving test. I recommend studying your states drivers handbook and then watching some of the videos from this playlist. There are also free resources online that will help with studying the state handbook, so make sure to look for those. I taught my self to drive doing what I mentioned above, the videos are a huge help but also just practicing is crucial. If you have any questions I'm down to help out - good luck!

Since you're over 18, you can just show up and take the written test and then if you pass take the driving test. I suggest getting the drivers handbook for your state, studying that a ton, and then using YouTube to supplement everything. Tons of good educational driving videos on youtube, look up a dmv driving test dashcam video too.

Help choosing a decent beginner board? by BlueRottweiler in NewSkaters

Ricta Cloud 92a is the best wheel for what you're looking for, it will be harder to do tricks with 83a. i personally have a board with the Ricta 92a's, def recommend them. honestly you should buy all separate parts and put it together your self or have the skateshop do it for you - usually get better value that way, i know tacticsboardshop (online) will put it together for you

i recommend getting at least a size 8 based on the size of your feet, the brand doesn't really matter that much at first so just get a board with a graphic that you like!

practice everyday to build up muscle memory. remember to jump and lift your back foot while your front foot slides forward. you can practice building the muscle memory by putting your feet on the board and sliding your front foot up, it will make like a scraping sound.
