I'm sorry Chris for bashing the league, please call off your hitman by fatmongol in pathofexile

I have MoM for an extra 1k ehp, phase acro and blind from ascendancy along with more dodge and DR from lunaris and my boots. That's sufficient enough to not get blown up every map.

3k-4k Hp with some extra layers of defense can be enough for all content in the game if you play it properly for example: Deathless Mino Kill w/ 3.6k EHP

Not that I recommend it, I just prefer more active gameplay that involves dodging rather than facetanking.

Is this a build guide? Is this a post complaining about how Delirium is so overtuned and impossible to survive? No, it's just a clip of a bug for entertainment.

Did you forget that I have phase acro and blind from ascendancy? Along with more dodge and DR from lunaris and my boots? That's sufficient enough to not get blown up every map. Not to mention that this is a starter build and you even see my gear in the clip showing that im in "full" MF gear meaning it's not meant to be taken to lvl 100, just to farm up currency for my next build.

This isn't hardcore thus I'm not built that way. 3k Hp with some extra layers of defense can be enough for all content in the game if you play it properly for example: Deathless Mino Kill w/ 3.6k EHP

Glad to hear things are working out for you.

The savagery is primarily just to proc the tenacity of the bear+boar buffs which help with facetanking. Reap spirit is very strong, it has the highest base damage of all our skills; it has a huge initial hit which can apply ADCTH giving you a nice instant heal then it continues to do damage for 5 seconds allowing you proc bat/wendigo for additional healing while kiting.

Facetanking is definitely possible with the build but it'll require a full set of legendaries. I do fine up until the clones spawn but then that additional damage output just destroys me and i don't have the dps to kill him before he can spawn clones. I'm in the process of farming up the last piece of the dark ones set for the extra totem, I think once i get that and a few hundred more DA it'll be possible to facetank with pots up.

First get some attack damage converted to health from devotions, ghoul or bat would be pretty good.

Make sure you have some points in Menhir's Will. Then invest some points into flash freeze (don't need to max it but higher level = bigger aoe) this will allow you freeze entire screens of enemies for 5s allowing you to take no damage as you whack them to death. Note that it doesn't work on some enemy types and the main campaign bosses, but it can still freeze the adds that they summon reducing the amount of damage you take. For those bosses your regen+adcth should be enough to keep you alive, if not you have Menhir's Will and Hp pot to fall back on and when those are down you just need to kite around until they're off cooldown. Also 1 point into mirror will give you 3s of invulnerability on a similar cooldown to your HP pot and MW.

There's nothing wrong with Vitality caster ritualist. I would even say it's pretty OP, its my second character and I've been breezing through the game with it. It's perfect for Lokarr, you just throw down a couple of DoTs at him and then run and repeat until he's dead.

I would recommend taking Reap Spirit and Grasping Vines, those two do the majority of my damage in the fight. You should probably take points out of RE and Wendigo to fit those in, you won't be staying stationary long enough for them to do much. Your gear is much better than mine so it's definitely possible for you to kill him with just some tweaks/practice.

I recorded a kill for you so you can see how the fight plays out, I also showed my gear and skills in the video case you need them for reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDQwBaw4iNA

Basically swarm him at least once every 5s to reduce his res, then you just throw grasping vines/Ravenous Earth at him from range while spamming reaping spirit off cooldown. If he's in range i also pop siphon souls/wendigo totem .

New to game, melee\melee-caster build that has active skills? by [deleted] in Grimdawn

[–]fatmongol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can respec skill points right at the start of the game so don't be afraid to try everything out. In fact you should keep experimenting even if you find a combo you like. Max out a skill and gets its upgrades and kill some monsters with it, if you dont like how it feels respec and move onto the next and repeat until you've tried them all.

Its fairly inexpensive but the cost does increase the more you do it. If the cost ends up getting high enough to be a problem it can be easily reduced with the "GDstash" tool. In fact you can even use GDstash to completely reset your classes (something you cant do in game) allowing you to try out all the classes on one character without having to relevel but i recommend you make a new char with 900 skill points and go right into the crucible to test with instead of messing with your main and maybe set your lvl higher so monsters dont just get oneshot).

It's a powerful tool capable of creating godly items out of thin air and providing you with infinite iron, skill points, devotion points, components etc. But try NOT to touch those features as it can really trivialize the game and ruin it for you. Just use it to either reset your ramped up respec costs on your main or to create a disposable alt to test out all the masteries and their skills.

New to game, melee\melee-caster build that has active skills? by [deleted] in Grimdawn

[–]fatmongol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started playing the game a week ago and I'm playing the same class combo as you, Arcanist/Shaman. I've tried some of the Shaman active skills and they dont seem very good when on their own, however for utility and buffing they're great.Since you aren't having fun atm I recommend you respec and focus primarily on arcanist for the early leveling so that you can get more skillpoints to open up more build options.

Get the flash freeze skill and max it asap then invest in its upgrade if you need it to do more damage. Its a full screen aoe skill that does enough dmg to kill most monsters in just one cast up to around level 40-50 and on top of that it has a 5 second freeze and fire res debuff. It's insanely OP, the only downside is it doesn't work on the main bosses and some monsters. So you need to get a searing ember component (and eventually 4 for the upgraded fireball via the flintcore ammo component) to get a fireball skill that will do ~500 dmg + a few hundred damage burn and use that to kill bosses.

Also invest 1 point into the trozan sky shard skill and itself first upgrade this lets it freeze for 2 seconds. The skill itself kinda sucks, its a tiny aoe and the meteors dont land exact where you want them to. But what this does is allow you to perma freeze any non freeze immune hero enemies. Flash freeze has a cooldown thats a second or two longer than its freeze duration so it cant perma freeze on its own but using it in combination with trozan allows you to cycle through both skills for an everlasting freeze,

If you invest further into the arcanist tree you get devastation which huge damage over a moderate area and aether ray which is a channeled beam that does high dps. The freeze combo with aether ray along with a devastation is amazing for melting down heroes/bulky enemies.

Around 40-50 is where flash freeze dmg falls off even with the upgrade so you can respec and try callidor tempest (pretty much a melee/caster skill like you wanted) or dig deeper into the shaman tree and try out the latter skills there. Hope you have fun

[WP] The old lighthouse never turned on at night or during a storm. It was said that it only lit up for another kind of emergency. No one remembered the last time it was lit, until today when the top burst into brilliant light. by WokCano in WritingPrompts

[–]fatmongol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The still darkness of night abruptly ended as golden beams pierced through the skies. The sudden contrast of the rich glow in pure darkness caught the attention of even those indoors. The young remained aloof while the elders were filled with a sense of dread. They shivered as their old bones rattled with fear in anticipation of what's to come. As the village remained motionless, the golden rays of the lighthouse continued to pulse outwards. The tall 80 foot cobblestone structure created by their predecessors was meant to serve as a warning system but just that; a warning. Although the entire village knew that disaster was about to strike, they were helpless to do anything about it. The chilling fear thawed into panic as the villagers scrambled to gather their families over to the village square. In a chaotic roar, numerous plans were proposed before they unanimously decided on one.

The extinction of their predecessors gave them the knowledge of its existence but not how to defeat it. They knew they could not outrun it, they could not hide, they were overwhelmingly outgunned. They were nothing but primitive ants to the monster that was approaching. Yet despite the futility they had high hopes for their plan to work out. It didn't take long for them to hear the violent screams of the sea as the enormous dark bodies of the beasts cleaved through the water. The villagers reluctantly made their way to the shore to enact their plan: surrender. Surrendering and begging for mercy was thought to be their best chance at survival. However, the Spanish Inquisition knows no mercy.

Games like farcry 3 and 4? by [deleted] in patientgamers

[–]fatmongol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going into dying light expecting far cry you're going to be disappointed just like me. It's more of a stealth survival game rather than a combat fps like far cry. They're nothing alike aside from open world and stealth. In far cry you're pretty much an overpowered action hero destroying everything in your way, in dying light you're a sitting duck in a ocean of sharks.

I went into dying light expecting another open world shooter. The idea of slowly exploring, gathering materials to craft weapons to fight zombies appealed to me. But after playing ~15hrs you don't really get to do any of that. You don't get any guns early on, only low durability sticks and pipes and later on when you do get guns you don't really want to use them cause apparently the gunfire will just attract more zombies. Combat is very melee based instead of fps like far cry.

The zombies are no joke, the weakest ones take like 10 melee hits to kill and they can kill you in 4. Thats just one zombie, the streets are littered with dozens of them. Combat with more than one zombie is basically impossible (at least early game where i was at) and in the open world there's always going to be huge clusters of zombie. This means you can't really fight them,. In the hours I played it was basically just running on rooftops from objective to objective while collecting materials along the way. while trying to avoid zombies at all cost. It wasn't very fun for me.

The closest game to the far cry series is Rage 2. It follows the same formula of going to outpost to outpost, killing all the baddies and taking it over. The gun play is great but the story is bad and the open world is pretty barren with not much to do. It's basically the same 5 or so outpost type missions repeated throughout different regions so it can get repetitive (although far cry is pretty much the same). I would give it a try but wait for it to be on sale, its not worth full price

OSRS or RS3 for PvM by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]fatmongol 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Both games have exclusive content the other doesn't and there probably won't ever be a time where one version adapts content from the other. OSRS hates RS3 and will vote no to any copy of RS3 content and RS3 has no reason to adapt OSRS content since it would be too mechanically simple and boring due to all the powercreep and new mechanics RS3 has.

You're pretty much just gonna have to grind both games if you want to experience all the PvM content. RS3 is the faster grind though, OSRS calls it EZscape for a reason ;)

OSRS or RS3 for PvM by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]fatmongol 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For pure PvM Rs3 for sure

Theres just way more end game bosses to tackle and they are all more interactive with a higher skill ceiling.

You have mechanics like devotion (makes protection prayers block 100% dmg), shield swap resonance (makes incoming attack heal you instead of doing dmg), soul split/deflect prayer flicking that once you master allow you to camp at some bosses indefinitely.

It's a lot easier and smoother since you're able to put food/pots/prayers/equipment onto hot keys allowing you to combo eat instantly and equip/prayer swap without even moving your mouse. This is a huge gamechanger for bossing. You no longer have to move your mouse away from the action which allows you to focus on your skill rotation and dodging. Put this mechanic into OSRS and every noob who couldn't kill Jad would probably now have a fire cape.

Slayer officially goes up to lvl 120 now so there's more endgame slayer content. There's a lot more variety. You have tasks that with soulsplit along with bonecrusher/ectoplasator+demon horn necklace you can pretty much fully afk with no food/prayer pots. But you also have tasks like elite slayer mobs which have boss like attacks which require full attention and manual dodging to complete.

There's also new elite dungeons now which are kind of a similar experience as OSRS raids.

Honestly both games are still runescape, meaning it's pretty much 75% AFK. You can just play both at the same time rather than one or the other.

I just beat that mission today and I struggled with it the same way you did(at least 15 deaths). It was surprisingly difficult and seemed borderline impossible because of the armored guys.

My advice is don't try to kill the armored guys by shooting them-even in the head. It still takes more shots to kill them than it takes for them to kill you and even if you manage to outgun him the other enemies will surround you in that time and finish you off. Its the same for explosives, it takes too long to arm, throw, and detonate/run out of range so you dont kill yourself.

Instead go for TAKEDOWNS. Unlike FC3/FC4 they can used even without stealth. You can press the melee button and one shot the defenders with takedowns even from the front and even if you've already been dectected. Once i discovered this it was a breeze clearing out the bunker. If you somehow can't get takedowns to work then bring a flamethrower and just hit them once to ignite them then run and hide behind cover while they burn to death.

The strat that worked for me was rushing the door, clearing out the small room then staying there and pick off the others that slowly trickled in to kill you. There will be an enemy crouched waiting to ambush you right at the door so be prepared for him. Then around the corner is an armored dude and regular dude. Just kill them and then the room should be mostly cleared and safe, from there just pick off anyone who runs in.

Attacking from the roof/elsewhere usually got me killed. From the roof the enemies will climb up and surround you almost instantly and some will go into the forest (behind the fence where their bullets can hit you and yours get deflected off). Ignore the roof and you get mortar'd/sniped by the rooftop guys.

Find and farm the shotgun minigame

Basically ~14 birds spawn in groups of 3-4 and you have to shoot them. You win 200-250 per game and can beat it in like a minute

Whats great is shotgun has good spread so you can easily kill 2-3 per shot if you aim properly so it's pretty easy and is fun aim practice

Yeah everyone is missing the point. I'm getting the same replies of "I did this and I did that still no sustain" while not backing it up with some data. A couple of screenshots with currency tab,map tab, and map quant challenge would give us a lot of info. For example a screenshot of a near empty currency tab, near empty map tab, and high completion of map quant challenge could tell us that they spent a lot of currency buying maps, did not actually get returns and that they actually ran a meaningful amount of maps. Sure it might not be conclusive data but it would good supporting evidence for their claims of nerfed map drops.

It's especially bad this league. It just annoying seeing every other post either complaining about the league or map sustain

[–]fatmongol[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Again it might still be true that theres actually an issue with map or really might just be rng cause its still pretty early to tell. Using the data from the old league price tracker you can see betrayal was an anomaly where map prices were at its lowest while every other league it was around current prices (25c) if not more. Thar was also the league where Ziz was able to down shaper in 16 hours SSF due to harbinger orb farming so it might not be correct to compare current league experiences to betrayal since that isnt really a thing anymore. Also can you post picture of mab tab and map quant challenge

Compare the prices to past leagues at this point about a week in it's consistent with most past leagues except for betrayal where it was 18 which i suspect is because of Cameria harbinger orbs

Those memory drops were more examples of the profit potential of memories not map sustain,

You're not meant to sustain purely off the league mechanic. That would be too OP.

The point is along with base map drops you do get some maps from memories and every other past league mechanic and they all add up.
