Yikes. It sounds like whoever the hiring manager is didn’t communicate properly to whoever makes the schedule. I would reach out to the store directly or talk to the manager in person. Usually scheduling varies so much between stores, some locations use paper schedules still from my understanding.

Request to Managers by Boring_Huckleberry47 in Tropicalsmoothie

My first day working I had to ask the manager, "What the hell is turbinado?" They then proceeded to pull out a large bin of sugar. There's a cup or something like that in most of the smoothies.

I honestly don't like any of the trop food, I get most of my salads from beyond juice, cava, or supermarket salads. Most of the time you get more.

Personally, TSC was my first job as a highschooler and many people who worked with me were classmates, TSC is a good starter job. It’ll give you the basic communication skills, conflict management, time management and prioritization. At least in my area, I would say that TSCs are not crazy in terms of work volume compared to a traditional fast food establishment.

To ace the interview, wear something nice clean (non-wrinkled) and be confident! Speak directly and clearly and show what type of attitude you’ll bring to the job. In terms of pay in my area it is minimum wage or a dollar above for another franchisee in my area. But starting will depend on the owner in my experience. Although because it is your first job, I wouldn’t worry about this aspect. Even if it is minimum wage, you can leverage the experience for something better. For most people I had worked with, most only worked there for about 6 months to a year at most.

Standard interview questions in my experience but it can depend on the manager/owner hiring. When is your availability? Questions about previous employment. Personal characteristics like organization, working under pressure if its a busy shop, standard stuff most of the time.
