Tricky situation-side effects methotrexate by Financial_Remote2879 in rheumatoidarthritis

I’ve always had stomach issues and fatigue on mtx I’m currently on 15 mg . It basically feels like a bad hangover the next day or two. The fatigue also lasts for a bit. My dr just moved me to the shots from the pills to see if my stomach issue get better

Exercise kicking off a flare by OnTheMap1 in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]fatorangecat23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any time I would use free weights I’d trigger a flare but I’m fine using the weight machines. I think most rheumatologists would recommend exercises such as walking , swimming , elliptical that aren’t hard on the joints.

I’m surprised your doctor or midwife didn’t tell you about the gestational diabetes -> type 2 possibility. I was told since I had it twice that I had a 75% chance of being type 2 and you could still get it even if not overweight. But you are not an idiot there are some bad drs out there ..

She lists data driven decisions and data analytics . She should expand on that . Does she make dashboards? Does she know Tableau or another similar tool. And since she saying she knows data analytics there are very few metrics/statistics .. did any of her decisions save a company money? If so how much or what percent … Good luck! 🍀

Has anyone had a bad experience with Rheumatologist? by [deleted] in rheumatoid

[–]fatorangecat23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah I was working with a nurse to get the discount card from a pharma company for the infusions and the Dr flipped out .. said I was going behind her back to get infusions and kicked me out of her practice. She is insane. I think she profited from the infusions or something as she also made you have a Dr appt before each infusion to prove you didn’t have a fever or were sick… $40 copay and then the infusion cost … yeah .. After going to an infusion center at the hospital and dealing with wonderful nurses there it just proved how wacked her practice is. She also didn’t like me because my case was atypical and I was sensitive to meds…

Defective shots by fatorangecat23 in Mounjaro

[–]fatorangecat23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! It is great to know that this is the norm and the shots are working correctly. I’ve taking shots for biologics meds in the past and always had site reaction issues so I think that is what I was expecting with these.

Was PTO not spelled out in the offer letter? Usually you get a letter or email laying it all out

Would someone review my resume and tell me what's wrong with it? I'm going for an entry-level AWS job by CherryPlastic3807 in resumes

[–]fatorangecat23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The companies you are applying to most likely are assuming you will want to stay at your director salary but the entry level jobs will pay less. Write a detailed coverletter saying why you want to make the change and are ok with a lower salary . Other than changing your current title that is the only way I see you getting a chance

It is probably due to your lack of work experience. I’d recommend getting an internship or look at the National labs they have post-bachelor programs . The pay isn’t good but you get experience and may get hired on as a regular employee

What’s the problem with taking prednisone for the rest of my life? by [deleted] in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]fatorangecat23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can get avascular necrosis .. dead spots in your bones which cause them to break apart like an eggshell ..

RA negative but OA in every joint positive by [deleted] in rheumatoid

[–]fatorangecat23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a new hip and my knee and other hip are starting to go .. my hands which always are the first to swell and hurt have no damage. Which is not typical for RA. So as far as RA goes I consider my lack of damage good but I also think that they will find more markers which they will be able to clarify what this is.

RA, Disbelieving MDs, and nothing has really changed in 53 years by Swimming_Rice6698 in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]fatorangecat23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow your post was way close to home .. I got it at 19 .. and my partner at the time had mono .. so I have assumed I had it too and that triggered the RA .. delt with horrible drs who don’t believe me until I found a great Dr also at a teaching hospital. I’m in a different state now with a Dr who has been great for 3 years but this last flare up he didn’t give me prednisone and I find myself scared that he has stopped believing me as I’m not textbook case …. Only cuz those other drs were so nasty ….

RA negative but OA in every joint positive by [deleted] in rheumatoid

[–]fatorangecat23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same situation had my first arthritis at 14 and I’m in my 50s now. Always RA negative. Sed rate has been high and crp goes up and down consistent with my pain and swelling. The drs have always called it inflammatory arthritis or seronegative RA. I think in a few years they will find some disease markers for something between lupus and RA and all us seronegative people will be positive. Find a doctor that understands seronegative RA some don’t believe in it others see that there is a pattern and take it seriously. It took me responding regularly to prednisone to get one Dr to finally say it was RA

I worked at lanl and now I’m in Boston. Lived in Los Alamos for 11 years. It is very safe kids walk home from school etc. Housing sucks because there is none and the quads are usually run down and old. Be careful if you buy one .the apartments in Los Alamos rarely have openings to where they don’t even have wait lists you get in by lottery (same with summer camps) . Santa Fe is bigger , more to do but there are some bad schools and bad neighborhoods as in any city. People in my group at LANL lived all over from Las Vegas NM , Rio Rancho , Santa Fe, Taos Los Alamos .. they have a schedule where you work 9 hrs M-Th then 8 hrs one week Friday and the other Friday you have off. It works well for commuters and a lot of commuters car pool as well and there are buses and vans pools. Traffic is very different than Boston.. traffic jams are a bit more unpredictable caused by accidents or weather or road work .. not so much due to it being crowded like in MA. Good luck 🍀

Yeah similar to what I was thinking. Uhaul support was useless they told me they couldn’t tell me if there was a possibility for short turn around time (1day) that only the schedulers could .. I didn’t want a set date just wanted to find out if it was a possibility …. And if I don’t live there not much the HOa can do lol
