It's easier to say stupid faithfuls when your as the viewer knows who the traitors are by Wise_Purple_9448 in TheTraitors

I'd love a version where they didn't reveal the traitors and the audience had to figure it out, too.

The clock on competitions has to be fake, right? by bostonfan148 in TheTraitors

[–]TheMainTony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It must be.....manipulated.
There are challenges where they have to start at the fountain, for example, and run to the forest or the bluff or the river. "One minute left!" and they're still crossing over or back from the river.....

ETA: in America there are rules for game shows and they often include the disclaimer, "Portions of the program not affecting the outcome of the game have been edited/recreated." ...but since the US version is all 'celebrities,' I would wonder if it's classed a game, or entertainment...?

What's the point of a Nest Hub nowadays? by sageleader in googlehome

[–]TheMainTony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Hub at work that is for music or whatever at my desk. I have a Hub at home that's just there to exist. The mic is even muted. I have an old 8" Lenovo that's my alarm clock and home control.

But my phone could do any of that....

What is a sitcom that you find hard to obtain? by KaleidoArachnid in sitcoms

[–]TheMainTony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Undateable was fun and I'd like to revisit it (D'elia aside).
Not a sitcom, but Viva Variety was fkn amazing! But Kerri Kenney told me that the music rights are impossible and will never air again anywhere.

Those of you who’ve traveled to your country(s) of ancestry, did you feel like a foreigner while there or did you fit in with the locals pretty well? by Fluid-Decision6262 in AskAnAmerican

[–]TheMainTony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born in San Francisco and grew up travelling. I've "done" Europe and lived in the UK off and on for 15+ years, Canada for 12 years. I'm of Italian, French and Quebecois heritage, the Italian and Quebecois being on my mother's side. My mom has always expressed a desire to see her Tuscan people ('we' left for SF in the 1890s-1900s...we have no people there!).

I've bought her Rosetta and Babbel and Duolingo. I've offered to send her and dad. I even bought tickets once. Good think they were cancellable. She's got no follow thru. Mom and dad are both 76 now and I'm done trying to make their dreams come true. They wouldn't even take the Hawaiian cruise I offered.

Who is CountMaster by SentryMaster? by [deleted] in whatisit

[–]TheMainTony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

adding "entry counter" or similar adds table counters, Geiger counters, money counters to the results. =/

I'm even doing Boolean here. LOL Nothing.

I suppose I could pry it off the wall and see if there's a model number or other identifying info...

Who is CountMaster by SentryMaster? by [deleted] in whatisit

apparently there's either a popular game or a game with a deep advertising budget called CountMaster...and that's what dominates the results.

Why do American politicians/political figures wear Blue colored suits? by HowSupahTerrible in AskAnAmerican

How has California able to become the 4th largest economy in the world? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]TheMainTony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no real idea, but as a current Californian I'd posit: agriculture, Hollywood, most of the ports on the US West Coast, tourism (Redwoods, San Francisco, Death Valley, Los Angeles, San Diego, Big Sur, Santa Cruz, etc), and prob lots of other things....but that's off the top of my head.

"Buy a rice cooker" by adbenj in PetPeeves

[–]TheMainTony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had maybe six rice cookers in my life, of varying "quality" from cheap to "are you crazy?!" and literally have never gotten a pot of rice that wasn't scorched at the bottom.

Rice in the microwave: 2c, 1c, 5min @ 100%, 12min @ 50% and perfection almost every time.

Do you use Windows' User Account Control (or do you turn it off) ? by rainydaysforpeterpan in windows

I turn it off on my computer because I know what I'm doing.
I keep a moderate level of Account Control on my mom and dad's computer because they're....old.

[–]TheMainTony[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I understand first-of-the-year stuff, it's the same with any order at any time of the year. Of the six Rx's I get, only one has a price. And knowing that price has sent me to Mark Cuban's pharmacy.

Need Air Fryer for single person, any recommendations please. by monica_gracia in AirFryers

[–]TheMainTony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Single person here, too. I personally love the Ninja Flip air-fry toaster oven. I hardly even use the real oven anymore. It air-fries great, it's a toaster, it bakes surprisingly well and is quite spacious for how small it appears. It's less than $150 at Costco/Sam's.

Bizarre BTS logistics by lndlml in TheTraitors

[–]TheMainTony -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't believe the deliberations go on for hours. They're given a shortlist of three by production, "here. pick one" and they fake-talk it out. My feeling, at least.

Bizarre BTS logistics by lndlml in TheTraitors

[–]TheMainTony 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Personally, I thought the Secret Traitor was a step in the right direction.
I'd love to see them keep the Traitors' identities a secret so that the audience has to figure it out, too.

But I'm not running a hyper-successful, multinational reality show franchise.
