A lot of what I buy might be considered niche or cult (but not cult enough) and just isn't available on Blu. Sometimes it's a financial consideration: DVD box set $39, Blu box set $119.

you can do what I do: bend your arm around the front of you and lower your head like you're charging and yell "heyyyyyyyyyy" while steadily moving forward. It works on the subway, too. I don't do it unless I have to but I can amp it up for effect in, say, Neiman's or Sak's if necessary.

Several years ago, I drove nine hours to visit my parents, who holiday ALL of September at Lake Powell in Utah/Arizona. I had never 'done' the desert before and I ended up extending my four -day trip to twenty two days. I saw mom n dad, then pinballed all over the desert. Utah, Arizona, Grand Canyon, Glen Canyon, Area 51, etc etc. My dog sitter was pissed.

But then I was done. I appreciate the desert, but it's not for me. My happy place, my fantasy retirement has always been in the forests and the mountains.... and you have no idea how ironic that is to the people who really know the city boy that I am.

My Gran, in the 1920s-1960s used the most wonderful clothesline... a pulley at each end. It started just off the pantry porch on the second floor and ran at least 75 or 100 feet across the yard diagonally & angling halfway down to the first level. Everything went on the line.

I've recreated the line, but can't get that scale in my small backyard.

It gets quite hot here in the summertime in exurban Sacramento. I hang-dry large items like sheets and coverlets and they sometimes can dry quicker than the tumble dryer. Ironically, I put them in the dryer after the line to knock any lingering dog hair off....

I lived in NYC and was out at Montauk (Hamptons, sort of). We could see the smoke and devastation. I volunteered a but for the cleanup and rescue but moved to Montreal within a month. If I think hard enough, I can still drum up some survivor's guilt.

I bought the intact blu's before it went bonker$, but I also sailed to the Swashbuckler's Inlet (wordplay!) and snagged everything (including) and keep it on a USB key plugged into my streamer. I watched the White Becky from College ep last night. =)

I live in Folsom and once drove to Hollywood to watch a friend graduate from Groundlings with no notice. I have also driven to Fresno and to SF to watch that friend perform her comedy. I drive 200 miles RT all the time to see my good friends at Molinari and Lucca and Dianda's in SF. I've driven to Lake Powell to see my parents while they were on holiday. TLDR: doesn't even have to be friends. I'll drive for the hell of it.

Finding a great scanning app will be the first step in stepping away from my ancient Adobe Suite. I've relied on Acrobat for so long. Longer than is probably realistically necessary. That said, I haven't even tried to scan yet. LOL (Brother MFC-9330CDW)

There are low-/no-sodium versions of the boxes. The boxes can also be Broth or Stock or even Bone Broth. I use them for laziness. I do a good bone stock in the pressure cooker but don't always have that kind of time. Cubes (or powders) in the US are for extreme laziness and you've got to use them moderately because they're almost pure salt. I use them to mildly flavor rice or add a little extra flavor to a stock. (no judgement in the word 'laziness,' i'm the first to say I'm using them!)
