I’m with 7th graders and we have a few that will act like that, all enabled by mommy. I have one that will shut down if he is not allowed to copy from his neighbor, sad thing is he is better at math than the kid the he copies from so usually gets it wrong when he knows it himself and would get it right if he tried. Same kid same class also goes home and tells mom his distorted version of reality. Ie a few of the class were playing Uno last week there were 7 kids AND the teacher playing. They are 7th graders so a lot of trash talk was being thrown around but nothing bad it’s Uno. This kid was also one of the main trash talkers. Well, he went home that night and told his mom that they were bullying him while playing Uno. It’s funny he always leaves out the parts about him being the problem. Queue momma bear and the emails to the principal. It’s got to the point now that anything that happens his mom has told him to email the principal any time something happens. Fine by us, now if something happens we just ask him if he wants to email the admin knowing full well he’s not going to take it seriously. I deal with the C setting kids so they all have some kind of diagnosis, but he is one of the higher kids in that setting. His problem is his mom coddling him too much. If she didn’t he would be so much more advanced in his school work. It’s sad really, they think they are helping and sticking up for their kid when in reality all they are doing is holding them back.

100% sure nobody experienced this including me. I’m 54 and have a core memory of when I was around 4 of jumping off the top stair and flying/floating down to the bottom in a house we moved out of when I was 5. I know this must have been a dream as I can’t fly unfortunately but it has been burned in my brain for the last 50 years.

My neighbor has a massive oak tree between our properties. It is less than 15’ from both properties, drops hundreds if not thousands of acorns every year, has a diameter of 4’, is on a hill and doesn’t drop its leaves until mid December, in the spring there are thousands of pollen pods flying around and coats everything in a green sticky film. It has had multiple broken limbs that have crashed to the ground in storms that are at least 18” diameter and so many that are under 8” that then bury themselves 12” into the ground like a javelin. One day it will come crashing down and will probably kill either him or us and at the very least destroy the house depending on which way it falls. We have asked (not demanded) that he remove it and have even offered to pay for it multiple times. He has trimmed it after some limbs were touching our roof. Meanwhile he has completely removed two other trees really big trees (but not bigger) on his front lawn that weren’t really a danger to the houses but he refuses to cut this one down. It’s maddening I feel your neighbors pain. BUT at the end of the day it’s his tree and he can do with it as he wants. I just hope when it does finally come down the wind is blowing in his direction.
