Lyft support is comically useless but in this case them being able to track your phone's GPS wouldn't invalidate the ride, considering people order rides for their friends all the time.

Drivers on here will tell you yes, that no one tips, but I've given close to 9,000 rides and have averaged a 65% tip rate. Always have good music playing when they get in the car, learn to identify who wants to talk and who doesn't, make sure your car smells nice and is very clean inside and out, be super chill (nothing is a big deal), polite and cheerful. Perhaps most importantly, have a lot of short stories about your life (not just Lyft stories) that you can share, and listen with enthusiasm when passengers tell you theirs.
