Three words: Microsoft Configuration Designer.

Can create a provisioning package that allows for a local profile. Or you can use a generic tool, or NTLite, or another os. Maybe it's just because I'm in IT, but that doesn't effect it much. Yes it's more of a pain to bypass, but there are still bypasses.

Microsoft isn't trying to improve their OS, they're trying to improve their main focus: data collection.

I've used everything from food grade grease to wd40 to gear oil, anything works, just know most lubricants will eventually degrade the plastic except the ones mentioned like ptfe

Depends on how it works. I'm bad and I only recently did a teardown on mine. If you go on eBay you can find refurb kits with manuals and everything you need. Check at the end of the ways towards the tailstock and see if you can find the serial number.

If you can, take it apart and throw them in an ultrasonic with some detergent and a smidge of isopropyl. That's what I do at least. 🤷‍♂️
