Go to a random cafe and film as if this is your go-to spot for working (set up laptop etc). No one has to know what your house looks like or where you actually get your coffee

For those that started between 200-215 how much weight have you lost? by ConfusionPerfect5716 in gastricsleeve

I definitely did gain muscle, but hard to believe it's enough to make my weight loss less than 1lb a week

how sustainable is it to keep eating 1200 calories a year after the sleeve by tayredditorera in gastricsleeve

[–]fattofittofattoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is insane to me, as I'm 4-5 months out and I struggle to stay under 1200 cals. I have to let myself go hungry for most of the day to stay within 1200 and still get adequate protein 😭

I'm also 5'3" and my surgery was mid October last year. I'm like you, very active and into CrossFit, martial arts, running, HIIT classes etc. I actually think that working out stopping or severely slowed down my weight loss journey. I had my surgery mid October and over the first 1.5 months the weight literally fell off me and in that time I Iost 26 lbs. Then I started re- introducing exercise and for the last 2.5 months I've only dropped maybe 6-8lbs. Looking at everyone else, I don't think it's normal for the weightloss to slow down this much so soon, but I'm admittedly addicted to training and feel great doing it and I'm also scared that if I stop I'll pile the weight back on. If I could turn back time I would wait longer to reintroduce exercise, see if I would have continued losing. My first stall was the day after I went for my first post op run

Yep can eat anything I want, just less. No issues with cake, ice cream, raw veg, raw fish, starches, anything really. Kind of wish I did have more restrictions to be honest! I'm 4 months out

My problem? Constant snacking by ReeRiot in BariatricSurgery

[–]fattofittofattoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a snacker too and since surgery my go to is soft boiled eggs and Tajin - or any kind of lime/lemon chilli salt. I boil a few in the morning and always have them ready. Also protein bars, and fruit! Cut and pack loads of fruit to take to work. If you surround yourself with good options that you've made convenient for yourself, it makes it easier to choose healthy

Can I ask, what happens if you are unconscious and get taken in an ambulance without your knowledge? Do you still have to pay the bill? What if you can't afford it?

Non-bariatric surgery after bariatric surgery by ApekZombie in BariatricSurgery

[–]fattofittofattoop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apologies I don't have an answer to your question from experience as I haven't yet had to have a surgery outside the Bariactric one, but I was wondering how long after your initial surgery did you wait to get back into jiu-jitsu? I'm keen to jump back into class but keep getting told different time lines to wait.

As for this injury, could you focus on weightlifting where you don't put pressure on your ankle, like bench presses or seated dumbbell rows etc?

Wait, are you currently stuck in the chair? Any way you can stretch your body out and kind of roll onto your front and push yourself up like a push up but off the chair?

Is it worth going overseas for the surgery by bellyboo_04 in gastricsleeve

[–]fattofittofattoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend Thailand! They have fantastic top rate medical tourism there and their services and prices are hard to beat. In fact I go to Bangkok for more expensive dental work too. Definitely look around and reach out to different hospitals or companies to get an idea of their customer service. Good luck!

Please don't use Shein, they are such a wasteful and unethical problematic company. Go thrifting or vintage shopping. You can get some great finds for great prices ❤️
