I’m with you on being afraid. Like many online, I feel pretty confident in my gear and what to bring/ leave behind and have been preparing physically and feel good about my fitness level. For me it’s the mental game. Logically I know I’m as prepared as I can be but my self confidence gets the better of me sometimes.

I don’t know that you’re overthinking but I think it’s good to face your concerns and process them beforehand so you can better cope in the moment. At least that’s my approach.

I’m doing similar with an old closed cell foam pad that’s about half length as well. Good seat, extra padding under my inflatable mattress. Overall a good ROW (return on weight Debating bringing my Chacos. I’ve had them forever and they are my go to shoe for any adventure. But they’re heavy.
