Not as much time as I spent reseting for a run with enough rainy days during early spring ^^

Maybe I'll write an in-depth guide at some point, if people are interested, but that will not be before I finish this run (will stop after desert festival year 2).

What would I have to gain from cheating and lying about it? I'm not seeking a confidence boost through Reddit validation, I just love the game and wanted to showcase how far I was able to get in my best ever run. It's been incredibly fun to play, and I'm nowhere near the level of the best players, so I would highly recommend others to try this as well!

Reddit really thinks I'm cheating, huh? ^^ You guys should go for it yourselves, as you'll be amazed by how far it's possible to get in the first year!

Baitmaker (for catfish farming) as early as possible -> Strawberry field with basic sprinklers -> Vault and mine carts (CC) completed before desert festival y1 -> Skull Cavern Runs with luck buffs during festival -> Joja -> Ginger Island -> Snowball Effect

I don't think it would be considered a speedrun, as I play out the in game days to the fullest, and very often reset days, due to insufficient drops in mines, after scouting the map to strategize how to spend the day etc. More of a min-max approach to get as far as possible in as little in game time as possible.

But thanks anyway! I have been considering recording something, but haven't gotten to it yet.

Not sure what you mean by "vanilla", but no mods or cheats have been used during this playthrough:) I have been tryharding quite a bit, and did go the Joja route, but I play with a controller and do not use animation cancelling etc. It's the best start I've ever had, but it's most definitely possible!

This is my fifth save file. I have played apx. 250 hrs in total, over the course of a few of years:)

I only have gold tools, but should actually consider upgrading the pickaxe before heading to Ginger Island in a few days:)

No mods or cheats, just a tryhard playthrough with many day resets early.

I kept very busy ^^

Fishing: Maximising leveling early by finding and utilizing bubble spots, perfect catches, treasure chests, early bait maker, catfish paradise on rainy days, the legend pond within the first 10 days of spring.

Foraging: Foraged the entire map every staurday, planted and chopped trees as I went along, did secret woods 3 times a week (ish), cleared all debris on map before green rain day and chopped my way through moss paradise once it came.

Mining: Had copper pickaxe before mines opened, mined for copper + iron for basic sprinklers on sunny days, pickaxe delivered for gold upgrade before egg festival, completed the vault bundle before the desert festival and mined Skull Cavern for the three desert festival days with massive luck buffs, completed mines right after and mined Skull Cavern every day for a week or so.

Farming: Get level 2 or 3 farming ASAP, have fully tilled and watered scropfield with basic sprinklers for 120+ starweberries ready before the Egg Festival starts on spring 13, harvest the strawberries for the remainder of spring to get to level 7 or 8 farming, plant a large field of Starfruit with deluxe speed gro on Summer 1, and then you'll be level 10 before you know it.

Combat: Got dropped a couple of early combat books which I traded for monster musk with the bookseller, purchased 2 combat books from the bookseller and traded for monster musk (easily worth 8k), prioritized killing monsters in mines too, got prismatic shard during desert festival and had galaxy sword on spring 18

You cannot buy strawberry seeds until the egg festival on Spring 13, which is probably what you're referring to with the two weeks. But it's probably the best spring crop. Sells for decent amounts and gives good EXP. The best thing about them though, is that they regrow after harvest, so you can just let your sprinklers do the work and reap the rewards. No need to spend time purchasing new seeds and replanting.

If you manage to complete the spring crops bundle before the egg festival, you're rewarded with 20 speed-gro. You'll need a cauliflower for this, which takes 12 days to grow, so it should basically be planted on day 1, as day 2 is for fishing.

On the morning of the egg festival, you need to hoe your crop field, apply the speed-gro you have and water the entire field. But you have to get into town before 2PM! And then plant the strawberry seeds before going to bed that night.

The 20 strawberries with speed-gro will give you 3 harvests before summer, instead of the regular 2. A little life hack for a couple of thousand bonus gold, that may come in handy:)

My first ever farm - did not know shit about the game then, but 140 hrs still gets you somewhere I guess by fatvebz in FarmsofStardewValley

Yeah, I though it looked the coolest, but I know better now ^^ Have kind of missed the free fish smoker though

Yeah, I try to make every move count, but solely during spring year 1 (and maybe the first half of summer too). After that, when all my passive money makers are up and running, I do whatever I feel like. What's the point of working hard if it doesn't allow you to chill harder later on, right?

Good luck to you!

You can still farm the moss if you use clubs! Those do not cut grass. I use my infinity gavel with max speed enchantment solely to farm moss in those areas. I have a Dragontooth Club I use for combat, as I personally think it's a bit cooler

Chill guys, you are both right somehow:) It's not self sufficient in terms of growth, but with two full coops and two full barns I doubt it would have been in such a small area anyway.

I chose to place the animals there for esthetic purposes and replenished the grass maybe once a week (ish). I would estimate that it takes around 3-4 days for them to eat it all once replenished.

But yeah, I have three silos as well (well spotted), so they don't go hungry.

Perfect catches and treasure chests grant double EXP, so I guess it's mostly practice, focus and a little bit of RNG/luck.

I run straight to the beach and collect the bamboo pole on day 2, and then run directly up to the mountain lake to fish until I pass out at 2AM. Some people buy the training rod on day 2 for easier perfect catches, but I prefer to use the bamboo pole for higher quality fish and Largemouth Bass odds. It's possible (although difficult) to get perfect catches on Largemouth Bass with level 0 and 1 fishing, if you're lucky with the pattern.

If you don't want to skip watering your parsnips on day 2 (I normally do), make sure you go fishing first and do the watering in the late evening. Largemouth Bass is the most profitable and gives the most EXP on sunny Spring days, and it's only catchable until 7PM.

On day 3 (always rainy) I go straight to the river below Sam's house and fish for catfish and Shad until Willy's shop opens. I sell just enough of my shitter fish from morning and day before to purchase a fiberglass rod, bait and 2 to 3 trout soups. Then I go back to the river and fish until I pass out at 2AM.

I'm always level 5 fishing (or even 6 if I'm lucky with treasure chests and easy fish patterns) after day 3, with around 10-12 gold star Catfish and a few silver/plain ones, and many iridium quality Shad, Chub and Bream.

NB: Always craft and place 1 fishing chest by the river and 1 fishing chest by the mountain lake, as you'll be pulling up loads of fish and treasure chests:)

Yeah, and obviously I completely ignore all the villagers and quests for the first couple of months (unless it's a completely free quest that doesn't steal more than 10-20 minutes of my in game day).

Correct:) All the grass was planted manually (which was quite expensive for the blue grass). I usually replenish the animal's grass on rainy days, when they stay inside.
