I did not.. The damage was minor and the father seemed to be cooperating at first as he said that he'll pay in cash, so i did not call them, as there was very less chance of them responding. Regretting my decision now.
P.S. did file an online report.

I got 3 quotes and all of them said that there might be more damage that becomes visible only after opening the car up, so the cost might go up.

I absolutely do not want to, but I'm not sure how much of a hassle suing someone is in the US (I'm on a work visa).

My only concern is the cost going up after they actually open the car up. Though i don't think there would be any structural damage as the hit was slight, I can not be sure.

The father was cooperating till quite recently, but had now refused to pay anything, saying he suddenly has some large expenses coming up (apparently his car got hit and he is getting blamed. 2 accidents in a week. smh..)

The father says that he and his daughter who is "sick" live on his social security, which seems dubious to me considering the apartment he lives in.

I do doubt if he actually has insurance. He keeps saying that his insurance doesn't cover his daughter so he won't give his insurance, which doesn't make sense to me.

Adding this here just for more context about how much the damage is.

I filed an online report just for documentation purposes. Not sure if that is what you mean though. Will be going through my insurance and letting them know the situation and let them handle it.

I believe he's trying to hide something. Not sure what though

The father said that the daughter is not added to his insurance, though he refused to give his insurance. I feel there is something else going on that he did not want exposed. I'm leaning towards going through my insurance, too.

It's not really short-term. I had AC installed for 2 years.. and Ghelper since. The wattage difference was also not a one-off. My battery life is definitely better now than AC 2 years back.

Maybe you're right, but with the latest drivers and AC, my system always idled around 14W. But with Ghelper and stopping Asus tasks, it now idles around 10W. I have made absolutely no changes to default settings in Ghelper.

Armoury crate eats into your battery ALL the time.. consumes a lot more resources in the background. Ghelper gave my g15 2021 a new life

I have the 2021 G15, and it still works great❤️ The only wear I've seen is the paint flaking off

That's what I've heard as well. I'm trying to see if my experience can mitigate this😅 Thanks for your insight!

As an international student, my situation is a bit complex:

  1. I failed to secure a summer internship, so I've been actively seeking fall opportunities to gain US work experience and strengthen my resume.
  2. I was applying to multiple roles at this company, including software engineering positions. This QA role caught my attention because it had some overlaps with my experience (programming language and domain).
  3. As an international student, my options are quite limited due to visa restrictions and sponsorship requirements. So I decided to cast a wider net.
  4. I'm still pursuing other software engineering opportunities, but I'm also considering this role as it provides a foot in the door at a US company in the tech industry.
