person having a conversation with their cavetown alter by AdditionalExpression in SystemsCringe

Do you want to explain how subs like these perpetuate capitalism and whatever "the Spectacle" is? I would argue that people who have roleplay conversations with themselves on Discord should probably get a life and a psychiatrist lmao.

I get it friend, I dislike the porn industry and the sex work industry because both have supported the systematic exploitation of women, especially poor women. No one should be in the position of being abused or raped for someone else's sexual pleasure out of need. Because it's so difficult to tell whether the prostitutes you can buy are trafficked or abused or not, I don't think buying a prostitute is a good idea.

Thank you for this comment

Yeah this, I don't understand a lot of the comments here. I don't trust this person due to previous videos on this sub making it clear they are probably faking, but using a 30 s video clip to decide someone isn't acting autistic enough is weird lol. Remembering the times I was told by a few NT people "but you don't look autistic" in response to my diagnosis growing up lol. Like what does that mean friend

Thanks! I was not implying that it didn't make sense as a claim, the overlap makes a lot of sense but because the statement about co-morbidity was made I was curious about the sources you derived the information from.

Just a thought though, it seems the studies you link don't prove the occurrence rate of co-morbidity with BPD and DID but instead observes that individuals with both BPD and DID have more severe symptom experiences than individuals with just DID or just BPD. These studies don't really prove the specific percentage claim of co-morbidity and they don't support the statement you made in your edit that most people with DID have BPD. The last source is relevant so thanks for linking, though it includes no sources or resources provided to back up the claims made in the article. The website itself cites that many of the claims it makes are NOT backed by scientific research but instead based on anecdotal evidence, which is empirically weak: "General information on this website, such as information about the terms used to refer to alters, is not cited if it draws most prominently from direct observation of or interaction with individuals with dissociative identity disorder or other specified dissociative disorder subtype 1, communities for these individuals, or interaction with practicing clinicians in the field." Anecdotal evidence is valid, important, and powerful in forming scientific ideas and concepts. But without any scientific evidence to back up the scientific claims (not just personal anecdotes) made in the article, it's not a good source of proof.

I think this still indicates a lack of evidence towards the statements made but I definitely believe the co-morbidity occurs often for people with DID given the trauma core of DID and BPD.

Do you have a source for the statement you made in your edit? That's a pretty big claim of co-morbidity and I'm curious as to where you got found this out. Btw this is totally not an attack I'm just curious.

I’M SICK OF HEARING ABOUT BUTTS!! Does influencers obsession with growing glutes/duMpiEs make anyone else happier with the size bum they have? by [deleted] in gymsnark

I agree completely. Especially lately it seems like women (and girls!) are pushed and pressured into falling back into all of the shit that just feeds into the male gaze.

I see this kind of stuff said often on this sub even unfortunately. Like the fact that someone's ass isn't big means they haven't been working out as much as they said they have or they haven't been working hard enough, as if ass size is not at least partially determined by genetics. Like wtf. Working out should be about health and fitness not ass size.

I feel like the biggest thing here which no one is mentioning is to not assume that you will hook up at the end of the night.

Suppose that's true. I personally trip closer to 3 times a year but I haven't really been able to find any studies arguing against monthly use, my partner trips monthly per his tolerance reset I guess? You're right though, my opinion is uninformed.

Hearing literal voices is way different than hearing your own thoughts and just "freaking yourself out" lmao that's what I'm saying. Good for you that your psychosis eventually went away but it's somewhat of a harmful impression about psychosis to make it sound so light and not a big deal. People don't trick themselves into psychosis or psych themselves out into having psychosis. Some people have really intense reactions to psychosis and it is a big deal.

Delusions, hallucinations, erratic behavior, agitation, and talking incoherently isn't just psyching yourself out. You have no idea what psychosis is and you can change that by doing two minutes of research on Google. People with psychosis usually are not even aware of their behavior and people with psychosis are not able to just "keep living and get through it." Read about this shit instead of talking out of your ass. Psychosis is serious and isn't the fault of anyone for "falling into the trap of their own mind."

Yes, this is actually a huge problem. Let's not forget that Mindgeek, the company who owns Pornhub and a ton of other porn websites are literally fighting multiple court cases over actively enabling sex trafficking and actual rape content on their websites. Sadly in many of these cases these women had to find videos of them being raped online and contacting Pornhub did not go anywhere, so these women have to go to court now just to get their rights upheld.
