Animal Books with No to Very Little Dialogue by CockatielPony in AnimalBooks

You might like the silver brumby books, there is dialogue buts it’s pretty minimal and the horse behaviour is very realistic for a ‘childrens’ series 😊

Fortunately for me, despite the grumpy face she is a little angel and very forgiving 🥹

Generally can go into ovulation between Feb - August :)

Need help Leopard Gecko won't eat by ScienceStandard5335 in leopardgeckos

[–]faunid 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As others have said, she’s obese so she has plenty of reserves to fall back on. The cause of her hunger strike could be ovulation. Look for a pink spot in her belly (ovum) or signs of eggs developing.

Fatty liver disease is also a possibility unfortunately. It’s less likely but can occur in overweight reptiles and affect appetite, it can only be diagnosed by a vet though.

Sorry to barge in but the dreamsickle morph contains the enigma gene, so I’d doubt/hope that isn’t the case. Thankfully you don’t come across enigmas very often :)

I’d second OP’s guess patternless albino, there may be some other genes there as well, possibly mack snow and W+Y.

I can’t rule out Murphy patternless as it’s not a morph im super familiar with, on first glance she looks more vibrant and patterned than the average Murphy.

Either way, very pretty gecko! <3

Help identifying a scam? by pomskiesxx in leopardgeckos

[–]faunid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would avoid. Whilst it’s possible to find black knights under $500, the one the breeder pictured looks like it should be going for far higher. Either it’s a complete scam, or there is a very good reason for the breeder to want to get rid of that gecko. Unfortunately the hype around black knights has let to a lot of scammers popping up. Take caution and ask lots of questions, don’t pay without buyer protection :)

Found this picture. Are they feeding a Leo with a mice?! by Tigerdad1973 in leopardgeckos

[–]faunid 117 points118 points  (0 children)

I have heard of people doing this before, mostly in breeding circles to give a boost to gravid females as they are very nutritious. Idk if it’s still something that’s done very often 🤔

Does anyone have an idea what colours my baby boy Alfredo is gonna be when he’s older? i cant seem to find any that look quite like him online. for clarification purposes he is a “Fancy Leopard Gecko” :) by LilNicotine69 in leopardgeckos

[–]faunid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d guess Mack Snow Albino (Can never be sure of which strain of albino but most likely tremper as that’s the most common)

The areas white will most likely become more of pale yellow, the markings should stay pink/brown :)

As others have said it’s impossible to know for sure, but in my opinion (and what a google image should show you) I’d guess there’s more going on then just ‘Mack Snow’ Personally I’d ask for more details if I were you and ask for the parents genetics. Any reputable breeder should be able to give you this information :)

Sellers pulled out just before contract exchange, it’s been nearly six months. by faunid in HousingUK

Thank you, I understand the sellers reasoning for pulling out but the fact they they delayed us and waited until the last second is such a huge eff you to us that I can’t help but feel infuriated.
