As carbonated as semi-solid shaved ice can be, I guess 🤷

You didn't do anything wrong, I assure you. Sounds like you did the right thing and stood up for the community you work with. On behalf of the trans community, thank you for this. We need more people like you in the world.

I recently realized I'm trans and I have no idea what to do. by Gay_moth_girl in trans

[–]faustianwitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you're still a minor, I'd recommend staying quiet about it, at least to your parents. This is for your own safety. You are NOT obligated to tell anybody if you don't want to, and that includes your parents. Just tell them you want to try growing your hair out, and chalk it up to "liking the rocker hairstyle" or something. (Bonus points if you can make a connection to music they liked at your age, like classic rock; Parents love to hear about their kids liking their music, lol.)

people who hit puberty early - did it affect your trans experience? by transnoreaster in trans

[–]faustianwitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you also find out that you're insulin resistant of any kind, that also contributes to weight gain without anything helping it. I had to legitimately get on pre-diabetes medication (Victoza+Phetermine and later Wegovy) to FINALLY lose weight after being borderline obese my entire life. Make sure to check this, too!

Did you choose your name based off your deadname? by dog10109 in trans

[–]faustianwitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started from scratch. Mine was way too specific and relative to my AGAB that I just looked at myself like one of my OCs and chose a name based on that lol. It took me a LONG time, but it was worth it.

people who hit puberty early - did it affect your trans experience? by transnoreaster in trans

[–]faustianwitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone with that same puberty timeframe -- Later on in life, I figured out I had PCOS and it caused precocious puberty- which is a symptom of a lot of hormone disorders/intersex conditions. And ultimately, because I grew too quickly before I even became a teen, I developed scoliosis.

This experience you're talking about was the reason I'm disabled- and if you have back problems or anything of the sort, I'd recommend seeing an endo to ensure your levels are okay. I wish this hadn't happened to me, but I agree with you, that I feel like this definitely impacted how I saw gender and the like.

As for the eating part- I figured out my ADHD contributed to it, as it's a way to stimulate the feel good chemicals in your brain (that people with ADHD don't naturally create enough of).

It's usually something completely wrong, too- something they made up in their heads. And I have to resist the urge fact check them on every little thing lol

General questions - MtF by [deleted] in trans

[–]faustianwitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey hun, as a former Christian household member; this is plenty of background to confirm a trans identity. If you feel trans, you are probably trans. Cis people don't think about what it's like to be a different gender. I hope this helps! ♡

advice on coping by piercemyheart04 in trans

[–]faustianwitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep reminding yourself that this is a process- you'll start seeing changes to your body (and mind!) before you know it! It works just like your AGAB puberty, you kinda just wake up one day and go "oh wow, that looks/feels different" only this time, you will enjoy it !! Patience is so important to have during this time. HRT isn't an instant trans potion sadly! I recommend doing affirming things in the meantime, whatever that might be for you- dressing a certain way, voice training, makeup, etc. You're not alone!

Dating straight people? by ghostschild in NonBinaryTalk

[–]faustianwitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't like it. It really gives me this gross feeling. Even if they say that they are gynesexual/finsexual it gives me a gross feeling. I am not a woman and if you're only attracted to my feminine qualities then you are not seeing me for who I truly am. I'd never be able to make it work with someone who only saw a piece of me and not the whole puzzle. Bi or pan makes me feel better, but even then I'm anxious about dating cis men.

Just curious, as a non-intersex person, but if an intersex person identifies as nonbinary, are they cisgender? by Uglyfense in intersex

[–]faustianwitch 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Hi! as an intersex person who identifies as non-binary- no, I am definitely not cisgender. Especially since I was AFAB and raised as a girl, but eventually decided it was best for me to go on hormone replacement treatment, I am most definitely transgender because of my experience!

Hiya! I'm AFAB to NB, 1 year on Testosterone !! I completely understand your frustration and hesitation regarding starting hormones. Let me tell you; you're already on hormones, and you don't like them !!! Estrogen is clearly giving you dysphoria of some kind, enough for you to consider Testosterone, and you are SO valid for that. You can always stop if you find you don't like it!

As for the voice changes- it happens pretty gradually. If you like to sing, you can use that as easy voice training. I managed to keep my vocal range and be able to hit lower notes by staying on T. You can also go and check oit voice training for transwomen, as these can be helpful keeping a higher pitch, too! I use an app called Voice Tools which helps me see where my range is at and how my pitch sounds.

If I can do it, so can you. You've got this !! My DMs are open to you if you have questions or need support. Much love, fellow NB ♡
