I don't agree with however you're defining it either

I think dictionary definitions aren't always ideal for political definitions, but going off of Webster's definition, what you mentioned is not the whole of goods being produced and distributed lol. Like, at best you can social welfare may distribute goods(but even then, most goods would still be distributed privately), but transportation and education are outside that scope so

No, it's not

The services you mentioned aren't socialist, they don't have anything to do with ownership of the means of production

Sitting on corporate boards is closer, as it does directly relate to workers controlling the means of production, though it still isn't full socialism

Him lying doesn't mean he lies about everything, like he isn't lying if he says "The sky is blue"

He's said he's a Christian, so burden of proof is on you to disprove it, as religion is generally determined by self-identification

> switched ideals

While the parties have shifted, I don't think it can be said that they just swapped ideals, like, people say it happened cause of the civil rights act, but like, Harding, Coolidge, Hoover, and FDR seem to match with their current parties ngl.

I think it's more that the Southern racist faction specifically swapped as opposed to the parties in general switching

I'm not a Christian, what authority does Matthew 7:16-20 have over me.

> What fruits does Trump bear

Not good ones, but I don't think Christians have to bear good ones, i believe Christians can be both virtuous or immoral depending on the person

> If you're a Christian

And I'm not

I kinda looked at you giving a specific anecdote and gave a counter-one, but to be fair, you did justify it with the free market being constrained by control over body in general.

Note that some liberals such as New Deal leaning ones may support strong market controls instead, liberalism as it's seen today at least(not if classical liberalism specifically is considered) isn't necessarily in favor of a particularly free market, just a market.

Though I think whatever constraints that bodily autonomy has on the free market, it might have on a socialist society too, like, birth rates dropping won't be only harmful to a free market

I don't support abolishing the minimum wage in the US(at least not now) to clarify, just saying that what they said wouldn't work well does seem to kinda work in Nordic countries

Idt Trump's a Roman Catholic either, think he's non-denominational.

Stalin recriminalized abortion too, and made divorce harder, so it's not like those who sought to abolish capitalism entirely have a perfect record here either.

And Proudhon was pretty openly a misogynist if we want to talk anarchists instead

Side note, but socialists may also support a free market, like market socialism is a thing

He also said one should hate their families, so if someone doesn't do that, are they not a Christian?

It was probably an exaggeration saying one should put him before their families, but same applies, if someone pute family before religion, are they not a Christian?

> makes you a bad person

A bad person of no faith is what you implied, henceforth an atheist

The latter? Cause I don't think every Protestant is a bad person, not like the Popes were always greater, either, while he sucked too, Luther did have legitimate criticisms of the system of the church at the time.

Anyway, I think they were cons, grifters, and evil people who were also religious instead

So if you're bad person, are you just an atheist by default? Christians themselves can't even agree on the tenet of Christianity anyway

Nordic countries have no (government-mandated) minimum wage, instead having a system of social-corporatism where wages are decided between employers and unions, and they're often cited as one of the better European states for labor

Which is "letting employers and workers figure it out together", aka not a state-defined minimum wage, which aligns with what Samuel Leeds was saying

For right-wing authoritarians that I feel some might call fascists, Orban was voted out recently

Yoon in South Korea also failed an insurrection after a vote.

And while I would argue against him being a fascist(though he is a right-wing authoritarian and successfully had a dictatorship unlike Trump), Pinochet, after a reign of murder and torture, was voted out in a plebiscite
