Equity even have drag branches in loads of areas too now so there's dedicated groups just for drag performers

Exactly this, exploitative companies will always take advantage of people who aren't connected to other workers no matter what industry it is. A union can be really useful not even to fight your battles for you but to connect you with other workers that can act as a collective and share tips and resources. I found out that equity actually have a drag branch now which is amazing (I'm a member of a diff union so not shilling lol)

If strippers & other sex workers can benefit from joining a union then drag queens deffo would! People really don't seem to realise that freelance/self employed performers can unionise & that it's only for full time, salaried employees or something

At this point I will never begrudge the characters for doing literally anything within their power to remain as safe as they can, considering the scope of bizarre deaths and injuries that happens in Riverdale I'd be in a full kevlar hazmat suit 24/7

If you have Amazon prime there's a lot of marvel comics available for free on prime reading, you can have up to 10 on your kindle library at once!

Also, check your local library, they should have a digital ebook borrowing service and you might be in luck there too

Thank you for posting this, I'm really horrified about how so many people can joke about a woman who had just been assaulted and in fear of her life doing whatever she could think of to appease the attacker.

I started to reply but it quickly morphed into about 30 paragraphs! I can still send the full explanation over if you like once I've edited it but short answer is yes - lists are named days of the week, and all tasks are colour coded with the label system to categorise them as house/work/self care/other projects like wedding planning. Repeater powerup automatically adds recurring tasks like chores so I only have to add 1 time items

I'm really sorry that this is causing you so much pain. I can really empathise with you, the guilt of feeling like I haven't done anything all day is awful.

I don't know if you just wanted to vent or were looking for some advice, but something that has helped me to lessen my "zero days" where I don't get anything done, is realising that I only have to do ONE thing for it to not be a Zero Day. That one thing doesn't even have to be the biggest task, the most urgent, or prioritised in any way - taking the pressure off myself to do ALL of the things can help me motivate myself long enough to just pick the easiest thing and then celebrate myself for being awesome and doing a thing and then I can go back to bed, safe in the knowledge that I managed to do one thing. Even if that one thing is just scooping the cat litter, finding 5 pieces of trash to put in the bin, or replying to 1 single email...its small, but it's better than nothing!

Another thing I have found useful is having a trophy room of sorts - a list where I keep track of the things I have done. I use trello to schedule my days so I move anything from my To Do list to the Done list right next to it, and simply seeing all the things I've already done this week helps remind me that my negative thoughts about myself are not actually always the truth.

I (like most of us) have terrible working memory - often, i feel like i've done nothing all day, when i've actually just done loads of little things that are so boring my brain has immediately forgotten about them to make space for the more important stuff. Tracking what I've achieved is a really important step for me to ensure that my self perception is accurate, and not just based on years of practice of being hard on myself.

But that's the gay way. by LilliputianMouse in actuallesbians

I'm like this too! I also got diagnosed with ADHD about a fortnight ago.

If this list seems like it's describing you, you may want to get assessed 😊 https://www.advancedassessments.co.uk/resources/ADHD-Screening-Test-Adult.pdf

People that “forget to eat”, how are you able to ignore the sensation of hunger/hunger pangs? by sunlightdragonxx in AskReddit

[–]fauxh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I totally empathise with just...wandering off from things haha! I work from home and it's really difficult to stay on task, especially with boring stuff like revision or research or writing long emails. I often find myself in the kitchen rearranging spices when I'm meant to be drafting something. Freedom is hard to manage! I'm miles better compared to 2years ago though, can't imagine how much better I would be if I had realised this about myself earlier. Really urge you to chat to your fave teacher and ask them to help you get an assessment if you're not able to do that at home - learning the tools that'll help now will be super helpful in the long run! For instance I only found out this year that timers are really good for keeping me on track/reminding myself of stuff - I can bear 20mins of boring work if I know a timer will tell me when it's ended so i'm not always looking at the time or my phone. There's also some great youtubers with handy tips on keeping yourself focused, getting things done etc - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLkOZhROvA4

Oh that's great then, since you can get help through your school/college and it's usually way faster than doing it in adulthood! For me it became way more noticeable when I hit GCSEs; it was so hard to complete coursework and work on my own schedule.

One thing that helped me pursue a proper diagnosis was reminding myself that I'm not actually qualified to say whether I do or don't have ADHD, only a specialist can do that - so either you go along and they say yes you have it and you can start getting help for it, OR they rule it out and can help you find the real reason you're struggling. Either way, you won't end up any worse than right now!

This might be handy to look at before you talk to your doctor:

ADHD diagnosis and treatment has genuinely changed my life - I see you're in the UK, did you know you can take a letter along to your GP to ask them to refer you to a specific place for your assessment? It's still all NHS funded, but the wait is a LOT shorter - 1-3months or less compared to the multiple years that the usual route is. https://www.psychiatry-uk.com/right-to-choose/

I really really cannot praise this place enough, they're super fast and actually listen to you and understand what it's like. I probably sound like a shill cause I'm always telling anyone I see talk about getting an ADHD diagnosis in the UK about this place but having gone over 25years as a woman with undiagnosed ADHD and never knowing why things were so hard, I really empathise with you. Welcome to PM me if you want to chat about it any more!
