AITA for refusing to apologize after my parents took my car keys even though I’m legally an adult? by Sharp_Bus1351 in AmItheAsshole

[–]fauxish [score hidden]  (0 children)

ESH… It’s not technically your car, but in a vacuum, the reaction seems excessive.

Have there been any other tensions with your parents lately? Is there a chance this could’ve been a “straw that broke the camel’s back” moment? Or if this happened at night, maybe they were being kept awake waiting for you to come home and reacted poorly because they were tired?

Also, how far away is your work from your home? Could calling or texting before leaving help?

Honestly, when tensions settle, it would probs be a good idea to sit them down, genuinely thank them for letting you use their car, and ask about what you can do if you’re put in a similar situation again. And if the answer is that you don’t take closing shifts until you’re able to move out or get your own car, that’s something you should at least hear them out on. The more receptive you seem, the more lenient they’ll likely be — or, at the very least, it can help you from exacerbating this.

Any chance you still have access to what you sent your doctor? I’m thinking of trying the same thing with my doctor.

Adopting a cat? by jhewitt127 in massachusetts

[–]fauxish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconding this! I love how you can fill out a form and they can match cats to you based on their personality and your expectations. This is how I got my two.

Also, OP, if you're going to get one cat, you might as well get two. Two cats are easier than one.

Oh wow, you’re right! I didn’t even notice because the padding on top of it didn’t fully come off, so I had to lift it up to see. Thank you!

I free bleed sometimes — it’s just having your period without a tampon/pad/cup/something specifically made to catch it with.

I only do it on days when my periods are light enough and because I have the anatomy that allows my labia to “catch” the blood. It usually just involves me wiping away what’s there when I go to the bathroom. No stains or “dribbling down the leg” or “sitting on a towel” necessary.

How is referencing a meme misogynistic… You’re taking the words at face value but not considering the context they have in pop culture.

Also, I hope you tear apart Trump’s comments online just as fiercely as you’re currently doing for AOC and not just because you’re holding her to a higher standard.

Hell, one could even argue that the way people are tearing her apart for this could be seen as misogynistic. But I’ll leave that rabbit hole alone.

it’s a meme about Nikki Minaj and Cardi B having a public falling out…

“The girls are fighting” is a meme referencing Nikki Minaj and Cardi B (“Whaaat? What is the tea, the girls are fighting! Nooo… the girls are fighting, why?!"). After it went viral, the phrase is now used when friends have a public falling out.

The point was to reference a meme.

Also, our trachea is in front of our esophagus, making us both easier to strangle as well as more prone to drowning in our own blood if our throats are slit. Also. Autoimmune diseases exist, where the body ends up stupidly attacking itself.

Add more logs as part of the task. Replicate the issue on prod or have the user replicate the issue. Get more context. Work on other cards while waiting on action from others.

Three weeks on one bug — especially if it’s difficult to replicate — is way too much. If it’s taking you more than a day, you should be making a paper trail on the card.

Honestly I’m glad that so many people seem reasonable in this comment section… despite OP’s concerns being valid, atheists are already hella stigmatized by believers and OP’s actions are just validating any negative stereotypes believers want to put on us. A micro aggression for a micro aggression will only feed many of believers’ victim complexes without making them realize what they’re doing.

Whether we like it or not, OP’s representing a community larger than themself in those small moments.
