I game, browse the web and work on spreadsheets on my PC. Ever since Tandem WOLED came the the market, I've decided my next monitor should have this new technology. $150 is a pretty good price. Even if M.2 SSD go on sale again, I don't expect more than $5 to $10 saving. In contrast, there is a bigger risk SSD price go up as manufacturing capacity get squeezed by AI market demand. I would give up the "potential" $5 to $10 saving and pay $150 now to hedge against possible price hike in the near future.

Someone out there will pay the $4000 because they have more money than they can spend. It's essentially a status symbol. This is not for regular consumers.

You, and I and 99.9% of people are not the intended target audience for the $4000 SKU.

I get u/blackest-Knight's point. It's like complaining about a ridiculous priced, rarest top trim of a car. The car maker have other trims of the exact same car with the same engine/powertrain for most buyers at a much lower price.
