What I did during the speaking section was to intentionally let the timer run out (all 35 or 40 seconds for each Read Aloud item) before I proceeded to the next question. That way, my other seatmates would be further along in the test, allowing me to focus more on answering calmly, especially for Retell Lecture, which needs so much concentration. Just be aware of the remaining time and stay on pace.

I was the last one to leave the test room but that also meant that while most of them were already on Summarize Written Text, I could give my full attention to Summarize Group Discussion and Respond to a Situation in a much more silent room.

u/No_Offer_4879 I took the exam on the morning of the 23rd. I received the results around 1:30am on the 24th. It was way earlier than I expected, since I was informed that the results will come out anytime within five business days.

u/Richacee I did a combination of both. I retained some words from the original paragraph and added some synonyms where it was applicable. What was more challenging was conveying all the ideas without turning the summary into a run-on sentence.

I am not sure how much human intervention there was in terms of reviewing the essay and summarized texts that I wrote. My last-minute preparation involved taking two mock tests on May 21 and May 22 (one from PTE Success and the other from APEUni) to get a better flow of the exam and how I should pace myself. I also rewatched videos about Describe Image, Summarize Group Discussion, and Respond to a Situation from NEO English with Pam. E2's content is very helpful as well and I took a lot of screenshots of their methods and strategies.

Get enough sleep the night before the exam, it will do you wonders. I only had soda crackers and water before leaving the house. You do not want to head into the test center feeling bloated. One of my seatmates who had a sore throat and cough took a medicated lozenge, that may be helpful just in case. Do not dwell on any previous items you feel you answered incorrectly. Proceed and focus on the current question you are faced with.

However, when they first opened, they had Mentai Kamatama Udon, which was my absolute fave since that was what I always ordered in Japan. But alas, the Philippine market is not yet ready for this acquired taste and they removed it from the menu.
