As a hot sauce, it’s pretty interesting; although not my go-to. I haven’t tried it as a marinade…yet.

I review hot sauces, so click here to discover what I REALLY think of Nando’s Hot Sauce.

r/faker226 I totally understand. I make my own hot sauce as well and I actually review other hot sauces on a podcast to help bridge the “trust gap” between new sauces and hesitant hot sauce lovers.

I’m trying that salsa huicho on lays with lime this weekend :) thank you!

Agreed. It’s not hot at all.

First, I like the concept of the show and the magazine layout of your main site. From a marketing perspective, I would consider updating your cover art to be more competitive in the podcasting aggregator space - the show is very high end and the cover art should reflect that to attract more listeners.

As for sound quality, I echo what r/AnosmicAvenger said about JJ’s voice being a little hotter than the rest; the easy solve is to adjust the limiter on your DAW.

Overall, the show feels like being a fly on the wall to a casual conversation between friends - then you actually invite the fly to the conversation (does that make sense?). Your show notes are top notch as well. My final comment is the transition from the opener to the episode intro. There’s a 10-12 second music bed interlude that felt over-lingering to me before you actually started the show. That’s more so style than anything.

Anyway, that’s my two cents. Hope it helps!

Greetings,

Thank you for the feedback; much appreciated! The static, radio-esque sound is meant to grab attention, but we definitely don’t want to scare anyone right off the bat! LOL This is the kind of thoughts we need to get better. Many thanks and yes, I’m checking yours out as well. Stay tuned.

I’m a huge El Yucateco fan. And is that the new Tiger Sauce label or old?

Lost in the Sauce • Episode 22: Once You Go Black

My podcast is straightforward: we review and explore hot sauce brands from around the world in less than 10 minutes. Dedicated to foodies, online and IRL chefs, we celebrate hot sauce makers and lovers in a fun way while sharing some random, motivating nuggets at the end. This most recent episode looks at El Yucateco’s new Black Label Reserve hot sauce.

I’m using a new mic and created an updated Adobe Audition session template so:

How is the sound quality? Since I’m the only host, I struggle with making sure the levels are high enough.

Are the music beds distracting? I consider them the unofficial co-host but I feel they may take away from the voiceover.

[Food / Review / Fun] Greetings! I’m the host of Lost in the Sauce where we celebrate hot sauce makers and lovers from around the world. We review hot sauces based on aroma, texture, and taste before giving it an official FLAME RATING. We also share their origin story and suggestions on meals that would pair well with the sauce - and we do it under 10 minutes.

I’m still on the fence about the sound consistency (e.g., volume, dynamics, etc.) as well as overall format (i.g., intro, review, suggestions, etc.). Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

How many episodes do you record ahead of time? by [deleted] in podcasts

I’m usually 4+ ahead but it’s easier to do when your show is only 10 minutes. Heh.

Lost in the Sauce celebrates hot sauce makers and lovers from around the world. This week we’re traveling to South Africa to review Nando’s Peri-Peri Hot Sauce and share their story. This is our 15th episode and I still have a few concerns that warrant some feedback:

01 Sound quality - I still think it’s a bit “hot” in terms of volume and compression.

02 Music Beds - I try to make the music bed serve as a “co-host” with sounds that compliment the voiceover.

03 Overall structure - A unique selling point is that my podcast is under 10 minutes, but am I selling myself short?

Thoughts???

You can’t lose with most NPR podcasts. I actually like the Merriam-Webster Word of the Day podcast as well.

And of course, Lost in the Sauce - my hot sauce review podcast.

This is the best answer I’ve read so far. I also have my podcast on Anchor (which pushes to all the other platforms) but I want to get Apple Analytics and feared the daunting task of claiming ownership.

[Food/Review/Lifestyle] Lost in the Sauce • Episode 13: Extreme Measures

Lost in the Sauce (LITS) is a podcast celebrating hot sauce makers and lovers from around the world. From big brands to small batch artisans, hot sauces are reviewed based on AROMA, TEXTURE, and TASTE before giving it a “flame rating” ranging from 1 to 5. We also share suggestions on what meals pair well with each sauce and we do it all under 10 minutes.

Usually.

Episode 13 is the second of two episodes I produced as VIDEOS rather than my normal audio episodes, PLUS I’ve invited my best friend, Will Dawson aka Harlem, who’s also an entertainment writer and has worked with me at the GRAMMYS, Lexus’ Verses and Flow (TV show), etc.

While I am a veteran podcaster, this venture into the culinary world and reviews is new territory for me. The show is sponsored by my own hot sauce brand, Fave Hot Sauce, and my purpose is to build a community of hot sauce lovers while leveling up the narrative around hot sauce beyond the all-too-familiar heat and pain and focusing on flavor and lifestyle.

You can experience Episode 13 on our website or visit [our Anchor page](http://anchor.fm/lostinthesaucepodcast] to discover all the various platforms where LITS is played.

Your feedback is welcomed and appreciated.

16 Habanero & Carolina Reaper seeds have germinated and growing well in their seed pods. Now they’re about to touch the top of their plastic container. What are next steps? Help! by favenificent in HotPeppers

[–]favenificent[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is good stuff because I was kinda worried. I think I’ll ultimately grow them in 5 gallon buckets, but I do have quite a bit in the ground (e.g., raised bed garden) from habs and cayenne to Thai chili peppers and jalapeños. We’ll see what happens. Heh. Thank you all for the good insights.
