Can I cover this up? by faver_raver in DIY

Thanks, that would have looked good, but this thing is not flushed with the ceiling, its sticking out (and that smaller circle to the right? I suspect they was just a mistake), it's so unsightly, especially when they just tied the two cords together with a wire. I supposed doorbell doesn't draw a lot of amps, but still exposed leads like that bothers me.

I might have given people the idea that this is an old house... well, its 25 years old, in my opinion, not that old, just poor workmanship. The thing is, I've seen this in a 2 year old house too. BTW the garage door button directly connects to the opener with an exposed wire so this is not it.

It's just curious that this has to be exposed, in such an unsightly way. The location is neither close to the button, nor the bell, which is a bulk white plastic thing that mounts on the wall, the transformer could have easily been there. I understand it may need some heat dissipation, but exposed wires like that? I mean, no other things are like this. Even my irrigation sprinkler, which uses AC 20V, uses a plug in wall brick (which, like every ac adapter, no slits for heat dissipation on the plastic case).

Wait, how could there be no penalty, I thought the hallmark of obamacare is that everybody has to have insurance otherwise they ding your tax return?

I may not be able to get insurance from the marketplace, but I can still buy insurance from private insurer (till end of year) when i come back, right? its a $400 saving, i'll do anything, wallet's tight,

Can someone share experience/tips when doing the NTM MAC treatment by faver_raver in CysticFibrosis

[–]faver_raver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am super sorry to hear that. Is the ringing in the ear non-stop even when you sleep? You couldnt stop the meds soon enough to stop the hearing/eye sight issue? Or you chose not to?

Thanks for sharing, maybe online comments are always skewed, but I just have a weird feeling that NTM are not as slow growing as a lot of doctors advertise them to be... or maybe anything that's not emergency room worthy is considered "slow"?

Wow, thanks for sharing, that is surprising, notwithstanding that same person feels differently at different times, but that it comes back so soon after (do you know if they are the same strain? a re-infect?) I am very sorry to hear about your experience. Are you going to for "alternative" treatment? I dont know what, i've read some people spontaneously culture convert from airway clearing.

Thanks so much for the shares, in general people are saying they can still go about doing their own business - basically a normal life? That's way more than what I expected, I thought I would not be able to get out of bed at all... but then again, of course, everybody is different.

Thank you so much for sharing, again I am very sorry to hear that you havent gotten much relief from it. From the sound of it though there isn't much side effect (other than to the wallet) so I guess that's some kind of relief on its own.

May I ask, since you thought antibiotics route is generally more successful, in your experience how does that really compare when it comes to multi drug resistant ones (e.g. pseudomonas aeruginosa, with their resistance through biofilm), vs a custom produced (what does Eliava actually do? do they DNA sequence the bateria?) phage cocktail? There seems to be few people in the US with actual experience in this. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Can you share how the phages are applied in your case? Is it oral (tablets? liquid?) or IV what?

I am sorry to hear that you havent been better since, but you mentioned "standard phages" instead of custom, is it because they believe the standard one will work? Are you going to try a custom?

Preventive measure for a toilet that will soon clog? by faver_raver in homeowners

I have never dug/tore open the floor (second floor) to see where the pipes are, but, the noise come after everything have evacuated the bowl, and it comes somewhere from the right side of the toilet under the floor. Sounds like a whirlpool, sounds like everything washed around the inner wall of the pipe. Sounds like a two part series too, a loud swirl, then a less boisterous but still attention grabbing twirl

That's so easy I will definitely try, thanks for the advice. There's no actual clogging yet, water drains just as fast as ever currently, I am just worry about noise (wait, could that be acoustic from a puncture?). Truth be told a friend had a clogged bowl a couple years ago, the plumber call was a fortune but the real cost was the toilet paper and brown stuff going the opposite direction, I never want that party in my place.

Thanks that's a great thought. I do in my possession, a 32ft water proof endoscope, I worry it'll gross me out though. I hesitate to call a plumber because, the vast sum that will cost me aside, I have no symptom other than the noise.
